I believe it's always about the money in everything. I've heard multiple professional golfers say it's not about the money, it's about the trophy but I've never heard one say I just want the trophy, just keep the money1. If being developed for the NFL was his primary concern, well over anything else, he would not be choosing TN.
2. I never said NIL was the only thing that mattered, but it sure as hell does matter. And it's a pretty major selling point for us.
3. Every single recruit says it's not about the money. And nearly every single time, they go to the team that offers the most money. How convenient? Or should we just believe them all? Not only that, but it's the same for athletes at every single level where money is involved. They all say it's not about the money, and then they conveniently take the highest offer. David Sanders said (or at least implied) it wasn't about the money either. But funny enough, he went to to the program that offered the most money (and by a significant amount if you believe certain people).
It is almost like the talent level of the QB is important in the ability to be successful in the NFL. More so than what system they played in at the collegiate level.I'll point out that there was a large sample size of air raid quarterbacks who weren't good in the NFL.
And then Patrick mahomes came along
because you are paying attention. Why do I feel as tho that this kid flipping is simply a VolNation pipe dream? All I heard was TN was likely to land Gray and we find out we weren’t in it to start with. It was SC or LSU. Keys has continued to peer recruit for LSU. I feel a lot of people on here are going to be disappointed.

this board jumps to conclusions way too fast.
anything slightly positive comes out, and it means the Vols lead, and no one else is even trying.
anything slightly negative comes out, and it means the Vols aren't even trying, and we will probably lose all our recruits.
I haven't heard anything in months that we were even in the top 2 for Gray. But AP has hinted that Keys is leaning away from LSU. To the point i almost wonder if they're just finishing up the NIL deal. Why do I feel as tho that this kid flipping is simply a VolNation pipe dream? It is my TAKE that the Gray priority which was not trending fell way off after the Blair flip. Fit is fit, regardless of talent. Got the IMPRESSION that his price tag driven by competitors was not a fit in our needs resources analysis. Just part of the deal. Why do I feel as tho that this kid flipping is simply a VolNation pipe dream? All I heard was TN was likely to land Gray and we find out we weren’t in it to start with. If all you heard was we were going to land Gray, then you hadn't checked his thread for the 3-4 weeks before his announcement. It was widely discussed that we weren't prioritizing him due to other schools' willingness to overpay him as an IOL.Why do I feel as tho that this kid flipping is simply a VolNation pipe dream? You’re right I don’t come in here that often. I did read when Blair flipped that we were trending away but Gray said it was SC and LSU all along. If all you heard was we were going to land Gray, then you hadn't checked his thread for the 3-4 weeks before his announcement. And you’re also naive if you don’t think development is a factor. If a player likes the school and development of players at that school he is likely to pick that school if money is close. It’s not all about the very top dollar with most, it’s about being close many times. Bottom line NIL is far from the only factor and the situation can vary from player to player. Like Ethan Davis said, I love it here and would never consider leaving here. Folks naturally want to pump the money like it is the only factor. While it’s a factor the majority of the time it’s not the sole factor. And academics are still important to a lot of the players as well as the parents. Most players aren’t going to the nfl and their pursuit of a degree is still very important. GBOYou're just being naive if you think NIL isn't a factor.

My hope is that we will see more rotation at WR this year. At change of possession or dead ball situations. Gotta believe tempo is back TO SOME DEGREE. Hoping they all have their strengths and low drop rates. Athletic gamers across the board. Lots of twitch among them. We are due. Next years adds 3 OR 4 look good too.Them two freshmen's Rad Jackson and Travis probably gonna make some plays Saturday.
We will. We ain't gots a choice and from the ppl that watch camp...Trav and Rad forced their hand. Dudes going to be studs. My hope is that we will see more rotation at WR this year.
