'26 MS WR Tristen Keys (lsu commit)

If we manage to pull this off and hold onto our current guys this will be the best receiver class we have ever signed and will significantly elevate our receiver room for next year. Matthews, Smith, Staley, Jackson, Jefferson, Dodson, Keys, Moa (think he ultimately ends up on defense), Bey, King and all of a sudden our receiver room is no longer a weakness next year
It won’t be a weakness this year either, but negas are going to nega.

It’s not a weakness this year. Watch and see.

Maybe on paper. Production wise, these guys are still pretty much an unknown. The potential is exciting though

The 1994 WR class included Marcus Nash, Maurice Staley, Andy McCollough, Greg Kyler, and Anthony Hampton. All 5 were ranked as a top 10 WR in the nation by at least one service. Nash and Staley were each ranked the #1 WR in America by different services.

Nash had a great career. Staley was on the verge of a great career, playing a lot as a freshman and sophomore (big TD against Bama in 1995), but was dismissed from the team during his sophomore season. McCollough was productive. Kyler was a bust. Hampton was converted to MLB and was going to be the successor to Al Wilson before being kicked off the team.

The 2004 class with Meachem, Swain, and Smith wasn’t as deep or as highly ranked (although all 3 were top 10 nationally at their position and Meachem was a 5*), but had better college production.

Those would be the 2 best WR classes in UT history.

Rankings-wise, this group (with Keys) would be behind the 1994 group, but ahead of the 2004 group. We’ll have to see what kind of production they generate.
