'26 MS WR Tristen Keys (lsu commit)

"days and weeks ahead" - something's going to happen soon isn't it?
I think the decommitment is what he's hinting at and has been for some time. It's yet to happen, but I guess keep an eye out. I'd be surprised to see Keys do anything with a subsequent commitment to another school quickly, though. Everything about this recruitment since his surprise decision for LSU has been a slow burn. I'd expect much the same up until until close to signing day.

True.

Hooker was pretty good in 2021 too…but only starting with the Missouri game.
By the end of 2021 you could tell we were gonna be a force the next season. On your point about qbs making the difference, I hope that is correct. But I will say it’s not nearly as common to see guys as wide open as they were in 21 and 22. We still have our shots, but I think a part of it is defenses adjusting a bit.

My prediction with Keys is the opposite. My gut is that the school he commits to (after he officially decommits from LSU) will not be the school he signs with.

Exactly. How credible would his next commitment be? The same as the last one?

And if we did get his signature what kind of teammate would he be? No wonder head coaches are making millions of dollars.

Eric Cain(VQ) said it's unlikely we land Keys and Hiter due to money
Eric Cain did say this but he’s nowhere near as plugged in as AP and even Hubbs when it comes to football and recruiting. Until I hear one of them say it I have a hard time believing it.

Maybe landing Moa changed things but if Keys and Hiter want in you find the money. Period.

Yeah im sure it would be a pretty easy sale to get donors to get a few extra bucks to get both if we have the opportunity.

Absolutely find the money if both want in the boat. Another possibility is we are accepting our L with Gray and are using his $ to help out with Hiter and Keys.

Butttt if I had to choose one it’d be Keys

On the can’t get both comment from Eric Cain, it was something he said in his Locked on Vols podcast. Sounds like he just got tripped up with his words…

AP: I don’t know that Eric said that, but no, I don’t agree.

EC: Somebody asked a follow up from a VQ mailbag question asking which one would you rather have if you could only have one. That’s what I was talking about. Was paraphrasing the question asked to me. Probably should have been more specific in that….They can land both.
