In terms of optics and players watching other players---What would you guys say is the more likely scenario?
We land one of Hiter and Keys
We land both Hiter and Keys
We land neither
Not that I’m a Hugh Freeze fan, but I heard him talking the other day about the WR position being developmental and it’s difficult and rare for guys to contribute first year. Said they make a big leap from year 1 to year 2. DK Metcalf and Van Jefferson redshirted for him
There continues to be plenty of buzz around five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys and Tennessee. The Vols continue to recruit him as hard as any program in the country, and he continues to have plenty of positive conversations with the staff. His bond with Faizon Brandon is strong and will continue to play a role in this recruitment moving forward.
LSU is fighting to hold onto to Keys, and Texas A&M remains a real threat as Keys remains intrigued by the pitch from College Station. Miami has not given up yet, either.
I would be really surprised if we end up with neither given this staff's history with kids they identify early and go all in for (Sanders, Rouse, etc.)
The fact that AP is that bullish on Hiter tells me the people in the building feel really good there. I mean all the buzz nationally was around us and Keys just a couple weeks ago.
I think this class finishes:
- Hiter
- Brody Smith
- One of Keys/Moa
- Flip Harris
That would very likely solidify us in the top 10 and give us one of the best offensive classes in the country.
