I wonder how many people think that there is actually a conspiracy against Tennessee or if these comments are in jest
Bias isn't necessarily a "conspiracy" but is usually the product of some type of group think.

Honestly I think it is bias "for" other programs/coaches resulting in indirect disrespect for UT and other programs more than "I hate Tennessee". If you have two players who look equally talented that are both rated 4* with Kirby Smart loving one and Heupel loving the other... which one is most likely to get a 5th star?

If I see a certain coach putting more kids in the league at a position I’m probably going to pay attention and maybe bump that kid more. Say like a TE that goes to Georgia.

I think the fact Georgia and Bama recruits sometimes receive better rankings due to their history with development and putting guys in the league is a fair explanation.

The problem comes when we don't get the same benefit from Heup's development of QB's which is as good as anyone not named Lincoln Riley. G-Mac dropped from a five star to the 16th ranked QB on On3 by the end of last year's cycle and we are already seeing Faizon drop this year.

Not disputing that completely. Except that it defies the claims of those who put a lot of stock in the analysts at recruiting sites. Copying the work of successful coaches may work... but it doesn't make them the "experts" they portray themselves as being.

I think of course a lot of kids that are five stars are going to be obvious to scouts whether they’re experts or not. Three and four star guys are a little harder bc a lot of high school programs are a lot better at preparing kids for college. It’s not as easy a grading process as it was in the past. Better athletes are coming out of high school more ready to play in a major college program from day one. I do believe absolutely that their are some fine tuning or bumps depending on where guys are committed or what offers they have.

Different maturation cycles and better prepared lessor athletes taking star spots over late blooming lessor prepared guys make the 3 and 4 star call’s really really tough. Especially with the rankings primarily through the JR year.

There’s definitely been some bs with kids that have good senior seasons but don’t go to camps getting shafted as well. I do think with more services being out there as well, the scouts that are actually decent are spread thinner and have more guys to evaluate.

I hear you, but how many star blessed QB’s have exited UGA? That can’t be an easy sell. How many were passed by a walkon in recent years?

Last year MacIntyre dropped from a 5 star to a 4 star and we were told it was because he missed the rivals camp due to injury. This year, Jared Curtis remained a 5 star despite missing the Rivals camp due to injury.

If Jared Curtis was committed to Wake Forest or somewhere, he probably drops lol...Curtis is a stud but he's older as well (will be 20 when he starts his career at UGA) and I still think Faizon is better than he is currently.

I would be interested in having the new datapoints during off-season drawn out of services for significant changes up or down between seasons. Camps? Injury? Other?

Without knowing the time investment of the services vs OUR STAFF, I just let it slide. A statistics based study on recent trends by school would be interesting.

Not until I can see statistical data of significant changes in rankings up and down by school. Could be they are punishing players for not accommodating their processes, regardless of school trends? Major changes should have easily identifiable new datapoints.

You mean stud recruits dropping in ranking for no other reason except committing to us? That’s not a conspiracy theory. That’s a fact.
Its happened to others but you don't pay attention to them. There's also recruits that have gone up significantly after committing to us. It's called negative bias

The only people I heard telling us he dropped due to missing the camp were posters on here and other places speculating...reaching. Did someone from Rivals admit that? And what about the other services?

One of the scouts basically said he was dropping before it happened. Can’t remember but it was in his thread I believe. He had a bad performance before that I believe in terrible conditions if I remember correctly. He was going to drop unless he lit it up in that camp anyways bc of this. Already was internal chatter about dropping him.

I'll put any amount of money on both Keys and Hiter dropping to high 4 stars if/ when they commit to Tennessee

I was thinking it was Power that said it last year. Finally found the post on his thread that verified it. I didn’t find the other about it being the camp. Possible he would’ve stayed the same or climbed if he had a good camp though.

Also I’ll expound he had an injury on his throwing hand (possibly stitches in index finger). I don’t see an issue with him throwing the ball. One of the camps Power spoke about other qbs struggled with the conditions as well.
