'26 MS WR Tristen Keys (lsu commit)

We just need to focus on stacking top 10 classes we can’t worry about catching UGA. We will be fine. One player can change a program though we’ve seen it time and time again. Hopefully Faizon or George. We were always going to be a slow build anyways as we don’t have the luxury of being able to recruit loaded instate talent. We’ve always got to recruit the surrounding states very well along with locking down our own. Can’t wait to see how this class shapes out

This is the kind of player that gets us past Bubba and Florida at home.

I don’t think one player changes a program, maybe a season. But this team has consistently gotten better each year, with a unicorn near miracle year in year 2. I’m hoping we can get the requisite talent and depth to make the run that could change a program. We’re getting close.

You don’t have to catch Georgia to beat them. Ole Miss beat them last year. You just need enough talent and depth. Kirby Smart is a top college coach because he can recruit, x and o wise he’s been outcoached more times than not when playing against equal talent (which is rare) but if you can get close to the talent level you can still get UGA.

Instate talent was always overrated, but it’s even less important in the NIL era.

Absolutely. He's hired some really good Defensive Coach's and lets them do their thing. I guess if Ryan Day did it, anybody could. HC's have so many more responsibilities these days, there's no way he can just focus on 1 or 2 things. I was hoping he was the offense has been the last few years that he would see that. I'm hoping it was more of a QB issue with Joe and Nico, but I honestly think opposing DC's have figured out how to scheme for our offense. What does our offense have, maybe 6 plays that they just fun in different ways. How often do we run slants over the middle? Very rarely if ever. Take the Alabama game last year. Teams killed Ala with the shuffle pass all year. Not one time did we run one. We had numerous important short yardage situations that we didn't convert and that play would have gashed them numerous times. Just goes back to being so hardheaded. I've never been a Playcaller and never claim to know anything. But, if a certain play has killed a team all year, why would you not pick opportune times to run that? Hopefully we can get back to the offense had under Hendon. Although Kirby has definitely figured out how to stop Heupel's offense.
Um,……we beat Bama last year. Are you saying the Utah pass would have put this away before the half …..?

Exactly just got to keep getting closer

Be careful stating facts. Some will say you have BVS.

We may beat UGA every now and then (last win was 2016) but not consistently until we close the talent gap.
The talent gap is closing. This years team is much closer to Ga than they were in ‘21, ‘22 or ‘23. That doesn’t mean Tennessee will win this year but I doubt Tennessee had more than 3 or 4 players that Ga or Ala wanted in 2021.

The talent gap between us and Georgia is actually larger now than it was when Pruitt was fired if you go solely off blue chip ratio

Disagree. UGA is top three every yr while we are 10-15.

the coaching gap favors us, too
No it doesn’t, it’s not even close either. Smart is 10x the recruiter evaluator and talent developer than Heupel. Schumann is a significantly better DC than Halzle is an OC. Bobo is at the very least no worse at his job than Banks is his. At receiver their 3 players have all been better in the NFL than our 3 that have been drafted. Outside of Mitchell and Tillman, that’s probably a wash, but Ladd and Pickens are in a different category from Hyatt and VJJ. Let’s not even get started on their secondary and LBs compared to ours. The only spot where we may have a coaching advantage over Georgia is when it comes to our DL vs their OL. Their staff is so good that Muschamp had to become an analyst because they were out of staff spots

Overplayed your troll hand dog. We all knew you were a troll, now we just know what fanbase you’re from.

The “blue chip” ratio has improved each year under Heupel. This roster is now above 50% for the first time probably since Fulmer years. The gap was as wide as any we’ve seen when JH took over as it was vs Bama & even Florida.

GA’s roster,OTOH has “come back” slightly from their ‘21 & ‘22 teams according to most knowledgeable fb people. While they have a great team, they do not have the depth or overall talent they had 3-4 years ago. Ole Miss beat them very soundly last year. Ala won despite a wide open 2nd half by Ga. That’s not saying they’re not a serious contender again but they’re not as dominant as just 3-4 years ago.

The talent is being spread out more now than 5-7 years ago. Syracuse & BYU are signing 5 star guys now. More talent is spread out due to NIL. I don’t believe any of today’s champs could beat the great Saban teams, Ga ‘21 & ‘22 or LSU ‘19 or Clemson’s recent champs.
