'26 MS WR Tristen Keys (lsu commit)

I see no reason to dwell on the levels of arrogance some of our negaVOLS exhibit. He is a HC, you are not. He knows the players abilities up close and personal, you do not, he knows the real impact of or lack of onfield leadership the last couple of years on that side of the ball, and if you are not there you cannot. Stats can only take you so far.
So you are still evaluating whether or not to ignore this content? 😂

Why would I expend time on a posters views of what perceptions prospects MIGHT have? Give me some quotes to analyze.

Hoping to validate the quotes from Key above. Don’t like single sourced data. I will allocate time for this type facts.

When evaluating schools, Keys says he is focusing primarily on player development.

“When it comes to money and development, of course I'd take development first because we trying to get to that big money, which is NFL," Keys said. "When it comes to 700 to seven figures, and the production is there with the 700, I would take it because I want to be ready and prepared for the next level as fast as possible. So development is No. 1 for me, for sure."

For Tennessee fans, Keys’ latest comments about the program should be encouraging.

“Tennessee I’m in love with the coaches, recruits, players, all that," said Keys. "I like the environment, fanbase, all that type of stuff. They just make me feel comfortable.”

That’s great to hear, but a final decision likely won’t come until close to Early Signing Day. The recruitment process for Keys is expected to be long and unpredictable, but hopefully, the Vols will secure his final commitment.

If we could just show the NFL pedigree at the position, it would be done.

We need a 1000 yard receiver this year whether it be Matthews, Staley, or Jackson and preferably Chris Brazzell to play his way into an NFL pick too. If we can do that I don’t see how he doesn’t flip
I'd be happy with 3 WRs over 700 yards and 20 TDs total. And a bunch of beautiful splash plays

I know I’m going to get ripped for saying this but if his #1 factor is actually player development per his own words, he’s going to stick with LSU. They have an army of receivers in the NFL. Our development overall has been suspect under Heupel.

But is it actually development, or were they more talented NFL types the moment they stepped on campus than the WR we’ve been getting the last 15 years? (With some notable exceptions) They’ve been signing high 4 and 5 stars (guys who are supposed to make the league) and until 2024 we’ve been signing 3 and low 4 star guys, so it stands to reason, on talent alone they would have more guys in the NFL

I’m sure that is true to a degree but they have still done more with the lower rated recruits, too. Justin Jefferson was a low 3-star when he committed to LSU according to 247. Malik Nabers was the #150 prospect which is similar to guys we’ve pulled. They’ve had a lot of success with 5-star studs, but they’ve also done a good job with the 4-star and 3-star talents they’ve pulled, too.

Yep. That’s a tough pill to swallow but it’s fact. As much as I love Heupel none of his WRs have done anything in the NFL. Meanwhile just look at the WRs LSU has put in the league. Our WR hasn’t been suspect under Heupel, unfortunately it’s been non existent.

Looking at our WR development as a program, when is the last time we had a very productive WR in the NFL? I mean Jennings is good but even his production isn’t very good.

Stars don’t matter according to many on here. So that can’t be it

Unfortunately you’re correct. LSU is the school of Jamarr Chase and Malik Nabers. Until some of our WRs turns out like them, LSU is simply going to have the advantage there.

Just how it is.

What if LSU does better than that?

We’ve had 4 WRs drafted under Heupel (1st season 2021).

LSU has had 3 WRs drafted under Kelly (1st season 2022).

Justin Jefferson wasn’t developed nor drafted under the current coaching staff at LSU.

You’re giving LSU credit for WRs that had nothing do with their current staff and comparing it to UT only under Heupel. Why?

Yes, this is true, but how many of our 4 WRs have monster contracts and are considered to be among the best in the league?

Before you jump at my throat, I still believe we can flip Keys, but it’s undeniable that LSU has been better at developing WRs than most of the league.

They def have the advantage with two 1st round picks out of those 3 draft picks.

I’m only pointing out that some here are acting like BK has been the HC that has developed all of LSU’s WR success. He has nothing to do with Jamarr Chase or Justin Jefferson.

This

LSU current staff sucks balls. We beat the FOOL out of them 42-10 AT LSU. Head to head. Also Coach Hypes staff has put at least 1 WR in the NFL every season except his very first when we were on probation. PLUS we have developed Hyatt from a 3* WR out of HS into THE best WR in college...

This LSU staff has nothing on our staff. We have them beat in EVERY meaningful statistic. We have won 30 games the last 3 years also and made the playoffs...they cant even sniff that. The only reason LSU hasnt fired their head coach yet with his goofy ass and his fake accent is because they CAN'T AFFORD HIS BUYOUT....YET.

Who wants to commit to that??? Coach Hype and staff will be here for the next 4 years. I bet my left nut on that. That clown at LSU will not be there that long IMO...the fanbase already grumbles about getting rid of him.
