I agree it's not fair on our end, but I do think it's fair for the No.1 receiver in the country to be skeptical about what our passing game has shown on the field here recently.I’m just not sure it’s fair for our pitch to secure his commitment to be reliant on how our offense performs this fall with a brand new QB we had to pull in at the 11th hour and an entirely new receiving corps that is young and inexperienced.
I would hope he would be more deliberate in his decision because I don’t want it to just come down to “Did the offense perform well?” I’m just not sure we are set up for success on offense this year with how the off-season went down, something that was out of our control.
I don't think you need 2022 production by any means but it can't be as inept as what we saw last season. Receiver is the most dependent position in football and he has to feel like he's going somewhere that can get him the ball and allow him to make plays.
