Kelsey Pope has recruited fine. Mike Matthews, Tyreek King, Travis Smith, and Braylon Stayley. All top 105 recruits- 3 in the same class. Now Legend Bey and doesn’t include Jackson and Dodson.

Kelsey Pope just put Donte Thornton into the NFL.

Yes I know Thornton mentioned he had to show his Oregon tape for understanding routes or what not, but his big plays at TN is what stood out and got him drafted. as his 4.3 at the combine helped too. But his Tennessee tapes showed he could produce.

Kelsey Pope has not been good. Its really not much of a debate.

Pope is putting together our best wide receiver corp we’ve had in a quarter century, and the negavols can do nothing but bitch and whine.

I think how our WRs play this year will show how good Pope is. We've had two straight years now of underperformance by the WR corps. People will try to put all the blame on the QB, but the WRs were making mistakes and dropping balls as well. If they underperform for a third straight year, that, IMO, will speak to Pope being a weakness as a coach. Recruiting wise, he's not done terrible. If he can pull off the Keys flip, then he's done pretty damn good. But you still have to coach the guys you bring in. We need to see better WR play this year.

Not saying you're right or wrong, just observing, but wouldn't the receivers constantly making mistakes be a coaching issue, especially if said coach is recruiting good?

Talking to a former player - the guys in the building aren’t as crazy about Pope or Chop as we think recruits/players are.

I believe this too, but he connects well with kids and I think Heupel is plenty willing to play the long game with him so long as he brings in one top WR each year.

It does if he was talking about development. The WRs under Pope have been bad.

People are gonna KNOW those names above...soon. Thats a loaded WR room. All are very young as well. The Oline will be better this season than last too.

Now lets land this Beast of a LB in White and keep climbing those rankings as this top 10 class comes together. Coach Inge seems to be the smartest Coach on staff at least among the assistants if you have ever listened to him speak. Very intelligent man who seems genuine and connects well with players. He was a big upgrade at LB coach and a great hire by CJH. I watched his introduction interview and came away clearly impressed by his knowledge of the game as well as his passion towards his players. Seems like a father figure to these young men. I hope we keep him for a long time...he has been dominant as a recruiter as well. Look how much better that LB room has gotten since Coach Inge was hired. Night and day.

LB play was very good considering we lost a veteran there after 4 games.

Arion Carter stepped up huge. I think Telander has a bad taste in his mouth and will bounce back.

Spillman and Harmon are two guys that expect to play a lot. Burns a has some ability, but Harmon is who I’m most excited about.

Jk, I really don't care who does the heavy lifting as long as it gets done. Not really seeing the elite LEO for this class we've pretty much been getting every year, but it's early yet. Good news is there's really been no change, so there should be no drop off.
