Did the Boos plan the exit or was the writing on the wall? Had Boo screwed up so bad that he knew it was coming or was this a ploy to get out of a bad pee test? As an employer I have seen crazy schemes acted out to cover for a hot test.

I think they would have had some leeway for him if something like pot were the only issue. Seems to be an attitude problem that got him through the exit door.

I am seeing a pattern here that is cause for concern. Last year the leadership team was not happy with Pearce and supposedly brought those to CJH. It seems nothing was done (as far as known). Now this summer the leadership team has a problem with Carter and wanted him gone. Again CJH let the issues slide with minimal consequences and it seems to have created issues. If Heupel is going to preach this “team first” commitment and have leadership teams, going forward he must allow them to have more control, or else create a locker room issue of star players getting by with not following rules that others have to follow.

maybe Heupel is a little too easy going... I would also like to see him go after refs more to during the games

Here are some facts: heupel didn’t have the final decision on whether Boo should be let back onto the team. He has stated that was up to a players council.

The players decided boo could come back on if he was able to make amends and go through what they deemed was necessary for him to be back in good graces with the team.

Exactly. Like I said the other dad, memory fails some folk when they have an agenda.

You obviously sat in on those council meetings.

There are multiple conclusions of guess-work in this conclusion. I hope this board doesn't pick up this information and start running with it, which is often the case.

Yep. And a whole bunch of couch coaches who don’t have a clue about running a college football team.
There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.

This is not even remotely accurate. The ONLY reason Boo was on this team after the summer is because Heup allowed the player leadership council to decide his fate. If they didn't want him back on this team, he would not be here today. That is simply a fact that cannot be disputed.

They accepted him back, and that was good enough for Heup, along with the requirements Heup put in place that Boo had to meet in order to get back on the team.

I don't know of any issues Pearce had with teammates or the leadership council. The players largely seemed to like Pearce. The coaches are the only ones I've seen mentioned who reportedly had some issues with Pearce, and we don't know exactly what those issues were (or if those reports were true). Regardless, Pearce didn't dog out on the field, like Boo clearly has. He had a good motor and played hard, with one of the highest pressure rates in the country.
