This inability should not have been lost on Pat. It could not have just popped up as a head coach. The only reason I can see for Pat to have kept her around was that she must have been a good yes man (woman) and able to carry out orders really well. Or maybe she really is and was a great recruiter. Or and this is a big question that has been in my mind for at least the last 5 years," what did she have on Pat and/or the UT Athletic Dept".????

I'm sick and tired of the well she followed Pat crap. That don't mean you tank, she may have been a good assistant that doesn't make you a head coach and she is NOT a average head coach. Tennessee can do MUCH better. Just LEAVE HOLLY, if you care about the program you will put your ego in check and retire. GBO!

Wow! 40+ years ago and it lives on.

My late mother was a big fan but stopped following Vol football almost totally after that event. She spoke of it decades later. Battle went on to a successful life in many ways. According to family who are neighbors at his GA estate, he is one of the most gracious and kind people.

Meanwhile, back here we still carry the shame of our actions. No matter how badly a coach fails at their job, the individuals in the fanbase will never succeed at cleansing themselves on that coach as their scapegoat.

How people are handled in difficult situations tells a lot about the group doing the handling. The fanbase should seriously consider their handling of a VFL who has helped hang multiple banners in our arena. Phil Fulmer will when she's released this year. He knows better.

We are past that point. The loss to Vandy was the death knell. Holly is now walking dead and I suspect that it will show on the court even more than it has.
The LVs season may well come to an abrupt end with a loss at Ole Miss and a quick exit in the SEC tourney.

I don't think Holly will be "officially" fired but she will tender a resignation.

Holly just got the John Adams obituary in this morning’s Knoxville News Sentinel. That’s the signal that her tenure is over.

Sadly, she may feel she HAS to move before this is all over! 😲

The thing is, many fans who used to be sympathetic to her, deeply respectful of her, and were hoping that her exit could be as painless as possible, are now showing signs of increasing anger with her. After all this time she has still not accepted one iota of responsibility for the collapse, instead blaming it on some phantom defect in “today’s kids.”

Yes, I am now angry with Holly. Enough is enough. I am sick to death of whatever defect it is that SHE has that keeps her from seeing that the program is failing because Holly Warlick has no business being a head coach.
