Moving to Cali?

I liked San Francisco when I visited there. More conservative than liberal, but I don't care enough about politics to let it matter in any aspect of my life. The snow is actually the thing I would miss the most if we moved out there. Tough decision.
.

In winter, Burbank is about two hours away from snow/skiing in Wrightwood or Big Bear and about 45 mins from the beach. A perfect location for surfing and skiing on the same day.

I own 2 handguns and both were registered with minimal effort

This. It seems that some rednecks started the meme that you can't own a gun/defend yourself in CA. Firsthand, it's a crock of crap. Why rednecks need to pick on CA is beyond me.

I think perhaps your term of rednecks means something else. Go on.

Good luck with that. I know you're excited about your move back to the hillbilly country but you're going to miss some of the So Call stuff. Admit it.

I will definitely miss it, but a better quality of life exists for my family in Nashville

You didn't pick up on the Wrightwood reference. You have short term memory loss. Not good in your profession.:)

I know you used to live there. I was referring to rednecks opinions of CA

I know. They believe what they hear on the radio or read in the headlines. Cali has some, too. Unfortunately. Many seemed to live around Palmdale and and Lancaster.

I had an opportunity to move to SD but chose Seattle instead. I decided against it for a couple of reasons. One was state income taxes they are around 8% and guaranteed to go higher. 2nd, the cost of buying a house was more then almost anywhere else in the US. 3rd, I lived in Arizona for 4 years I kind of missed having seasons. The southern part of California is very arid, not as many trees as you probably are used to Tenn.

On the positive side. The weather is the same virtually year around and is perfect temperatures. 2. The beach is awesome I love to go there and just watch the sunset 3. always something new to do or try. On the downside parking and traffic are the worst.:twocents:
