moving forward WR alignment?

I think Chaney will use Rivera a lot more...there's a good chance you'll see a lot of Da'Rick Arnett and Rivera as the 3 wide if neither Milton nor Zach pick it up, then Downs will be the TE in that set...JMO

I would expect to see Dallas in there before Rivera in the 3 wide.

I know we have adjustments to make to offset the loss of JH, and was wondering why Matt Milton hasn't gotten more chance to be on the field? I was really excited when we signed him and hoped to see us use Hunter and Milton at the same time (now that will have to wait until JH is healthy again).

Why is MM listed 3rd behind DR and ZR? Couldn't he slide over to Justin's WR slot to give us a good big target like JH? (I know he cant match the speed of JH, but I thought he came to UT as a highly touted WR.

Anyone got a response?

I can't imagine that coming into play. Hunter will not be here 5 years. If the recovery goes well, he may be gone after next year.

So, he won't get a medical red-shirt? What the hell does your statement(opinion) have to do with his future decision as to leaving early or not verses his future eligibility? My question is as follows; Can he medical res-shirt? If so will he have 3 years of eligibility left, IF HE CHOOSES TO USE IT?

Why is Zach getting criticized for alligator arms when Da'Rick was just as bad?

Do you have to ask?

1- 3* player as a recruit so he cannot possibly become a good WR in the SEC

2- melanin challenged player.

Hopefully all 3 of the TE's will see the ball more to keep the outside open for Rogers.

Matt Milton was a highly touted athlete but didn't play WR in high school. He obviously hasn't progressed as expected however wr is not an easy position to learn in 1-2 years especially if you haven't played it before. Before Hunter and Rogers there had been very few wr's to play at Tennessee as freshman. I don't know the full story with Matt but from what I hear he just doesn't catch the ball well.

I know this has been discussed but I'm assuming Hunter will get a medical red-shirt with no problems? Correct? So, that being said, does he get his sophomore year of eligibility back? I guess going into the 2012 season he will still have 3 football seasons of eligibility? Injury likely to really effect track but opinions of his physicals in football being effected? Great or little with surgery?

Redshirt for Hunter is irrelevant as we will be lucky to keep him two more years.

B/c he didnt make any good plays to counteract that - his own mother can't seriously be happy with his performance against florida - terrible game

Caught two passes for 34 yards iirc with one being in heavy traffic.

He isn't going to replace Hunter but no one player will.

For those ready to annoint Arnett... I hope he becomes a great player but all he proved Sat is he can run a quick out and sit down in the flats against zone. Dallas has gotten more PT so far but has yet to be a down field threat.

If we cant run block then we need to get some screen plays set up to keep the defense from blitzing the piss out of us. I would like to see us go back to man blocking and see if we are any better. I dont think our RB's are good enough to run behind zone blocking. I know we had some whiffs but come on. I have been pretty high on Chaney till this game. His play calling in the first half wasnt good.

Thats all we need him to do. 2 5's is 10 anyway you look at it. We dont have to hit homeruns we just need to move the ball.

That proves he is much better than Z Rogers then. Arnett runs crisp routes and very elusive, he led our team in catches, he needs to play.

Thank you for your opinion. I'm sure you nailed Peyton Manning decision as well. Can someone answer the question objectively and honestly? What is the NCAA rule.

Why wouldn't he apply if that's what he wants to do? Are you a close family member of his? Has he told you what he will be doing in a year or two?

Nope. If he were, he would have been playing. The staff wasn't sold on Rogers either but none of the other guys took his PT away from him... including Arnett.

I WISH Arnett or Dallas or someone would step up. UT needs it. But if you think any of them have shown they're better than ZR to date... you don't know what you are looking at.

What about Anthony Anderson? He is a 5th. year player, lots of experience. He was switched from defense to WR pre-season. He was a track star and wide receiver at AE before going to UT to play.

Give him a shot............

I am pretty positive Hunter is eligible. It would be a good back up plan on his part to get the RS just in case something happens.

However the reality is that if he heals and plays through next season up to his capability... he's a top 10 draft pick.

Most catches on the team vs our first SEC opponent isn't stepping up?

Zach Rogers has 5 catches on the SEASON, multiple drops, and a terrible fumble vs Montana.

Arnett has 8 catches in one game, and no drops. If he is going to sit in the soft zone and catch 4-5 yarders all day I'll take it.

I think that's exactly what Arnett was recruited to do. We don't have a replacement for Hunter on the team atm. We are going to have to switch to a more dink and dunk type passing game which sucks because Bray throws the deep ball as well as anyone.

Anderson might be part of the solution. You'd think Neal has to step up and play a role too.

How fast is Anderson? Also I wonder how good DY is at catching the ball. We need someone to stretch the field somewhat or their D will just squat into the 5 yard territory and simply double DR.

He has to be able to get to at least the mid-level. Remember Cut's dink and dunk? He had three guys who could catch the short routes but they could at least get to the mid-level to keep defenders off too.

I think Arnett has the physical ability to do it... but he has to do it before he takes alot of reps away from ZR who DOES know how to do it.
