Playing time and Peter Sirmon.

+1 . . Peter everyone remembers was one heck of a NFL linebacker, and for a chance to learn from one i would say is VERY appealing to Mr. Santos, ( as to which we all should refer to him from now on, or we will likely suffer bodily harm at this manchilds hand! Lol). I think the opportunity for him to learn from a great NFL linebacker appealed to him, and him playing in front of 100k+!!! JMO

Santos is going to become a total BEAST !

He's a great pickup and at a position of serious need.

VFL...GO BIG ORANGE!!!

The VOLS are now rated as the #22 recruiting class by ESPN after the Santos signing...hopefully we have a ton more of guys like him and don't miss out on any more Humphries type players and can move in the top ten when it is said and done.

Santos signed????????????????????????????????
Before NSD??????????????????????

We didn't. It was Texas AM. Funny how we start using ESPNs numbers to justify this class. Just a thought, nothing more.

Rivals should get their players fully evaluated.

It's not a big deal but people sometimes confuse the words committing and signing this early in the recruiting marathon

OK, was stunned such a thing could happen before NSD so thanks for clearing that up.

I just can't take these ranking services seriously seeing how far one is off from the other. Opinions of whom i may ask? Are these so called evaluators ex football players? Or just a few desk jockeys who are biased toward certain schools(paid) or just very opinionated.

Granted, three of our prospects that are four stars on espn are .1 away from being four stars on rivals. Then there is henderson who is a four star on espn but a non star on rivals :ermm:

Look at the NFL, at every position you see a a Tennessee Vol representing that position as the top guy. There is something about Tennessee that pumps out the best player. Best QB,RB,TE,DT, MLB, SS, all from UT. You see all these top recruits going to other schools, then make it to NFL and they are garbage. UT really knows how to coach them up. Dalton is the next big thing and will be the best MLB in the country.

Surely you aren't saying Arian Foster and Eric Berry are the best at their positions in the NFL right now. And who are you saying is the best DT? Haynesworth?

Who are you considering the best MLB? Is this current, or former as well? I'd put Al Wilson up as one of the top, if not the top MLB's ever, but who is the top MLB from UT now? Mayo plays on the outside doesn't he? He's probably the best LB in the NFL out of UT at the present time... unless I'm having a brain fart worthy of brain damaging proportions.

My question: will a top ten class behind three or four SEC schools get us there?

Answer: probably not.... but it's a start

Do you really think the difference between a number #10 class and a #3 class is that drastic? The difference between two top ten classes are pretty much negligible i would think. Just IMO
