Hey guys, jsut moved to central florida, gonna miss middle TN, but work required it.

Anyway, I was getting my tv set up this week and need to know, with so many different options available now, which company am i most likely to see my VOLS?

I have direct tv set up to come on tuesday, they are giving me the sunday ticket and their sports pac, and the guy on the phone said I would also get all the college games also, but he was from california(what do they know about sports):) anyone have any better ideas or should I be looking at another provider? Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

I have DTV here in Jacksonville, FL. You get all the Vol replays and such on Sports South. You will not get the payperview game, which will be the UT Martin game, unless you order the Gameplan for that week. I watch on ESPN3 on the pc and it does OK. You will have to keep the sports pack after your 6 month trial to keep Sports South. Welcome to Gator land, be strong.

Either Game Plan, or if you have espn3.com, you can just hook a laptop up to the TV, that's what I'm planning on doing

I live in Central Florida and DirecTV has the best sports package. You'll get all the coaches shows and several B Ball games on sports south. Football is pretty much covered by ESPN/CBS and some on SS and in 1 or 2 cases you can use ESPN3 for like Martin and UAB unless you get the ESPN Gameplan.

Check to see if they are providing you with 2 different things.

1. ESPNU (covers a lot of the medium importance games like South Carolina and that caliber)

2. ESPN gameplan ppv package (covers the small games like Memphis and UTM)

Between these two things and normal network coverage on ESPN, CBS, especially your local channels that broadcast the SEC network, you should be able to see every game. This is what I did last year. I live in central VA (ACC country)

DTV offers ESPNU in HD. SS also.

I'd double check, gameplan is an add on package

Have DTV, others have covered the options.

Keep your powder dry and your boots on...Gators are a whinny and mouthy bunch, good to eat though.

This.

But, can I recommend you to quit your job and move back? Get out while you can...

ESPN3 FTW. I used to order some of the UT PPVs on DirecTV and was appalled by the cruddy picture quality. Then one game, I plugged my macbook into the HDMI port on the TV and tuned in to the same game simultaneously via ESPN360 and there was no comparison in terms of picture quality. Just make sure you pick an internet provider that supports ESPN3. Also, if you have an XBox360 with a Gold Live account you can watch ESPN3 through the XBox360.

I'm originally from Central Florida. If you have any questions on potential places to go to watch the games, let me know. I'll be more than happy to share anything you'd like to know.

Does anyone know if you can stream the game on another site besides espn360? I currently live in Germany and ESPN will not stream over here.

Not sure how some folks would react to him wanting the UT game put on a TV at a bar.:)

There are a few less than legit websites that rip the espn streams. justin.tv and channelsurfing.net are two that I use for basketball games sometimes.

I lived in Amsterdam for a few years. I found most games on these sites.

try Justin.tv

or channelsurfing.net

or tvpc.com

hope this helps!!

Do u just use a regular HDMI cord? I need to do that this year. Tired if watching on small laptop screen.

I did run across some Vol clubs, but not sure if they are still at that location. This is going to sound crazy, but there is a place called the Thirsty Gator I used to go to all the time. They lay ALL SEC games. I had a few close Vol and Dawg friends that met me there. Just a thought which I doubt anyone would take me up on :)

It depends on the video out on your tv. If you pm the computer and tv you have, I can find out what cabling you will need.

Can you help me out with that? I'll be living in my dorm back at college and I need to do this. What kind of cable do I need to play the computer through the tv?

Depends on the outputs your computer has and the inputs your tv has. Very new TVs have a VGA input (that's an actual monitor cable input). Older TVs are going to have standard red, yellow, white audio/video cables. The video out on your laptop will vary depending on the computer as well. I'd take it to a nearby computer nerd for help. Dorms are full of them.
