I was just wondering, with this supposed "Smackdown" FLA is supposed to give us this year, if I were Kiffin, I would have to say something to the players of this effect..."Whoever puts the nastiest lick on Tebow today gets the photo image of that hit placed on the entire wall entering the weight room...immortalized in VOL history for years and years to come! Every other wicked hit on Tebow will find a less prominent place on a wall elsewhere throughout the entire sports complex...even the players dorms. I want every hit on him to shake the ground beneath them.

Players and recruits alike will see your example and come to understand just how physical we play here at Tennessee."

Knocking Tebow's lights out would be a kick to the nuts for FL.

Don't make Tebow mad---he plays at another level when he gets taunted by opponents.

I believe we should respect Tebow. He is a great athlete and all, but if it's anyone else, go ahead! But i don't think "bribery" will work.

Cream the Gators! GO VOLS!!!

No need to head hunt or play dirty...just "putting on the hits" like this:
YouTube - SunshinePreps - Jeff Luc

Tackle with helmet on football, shoulder in torso, wrap up and drive through the tackle with your legs...all with what we called in the Army, "violence of action"...nothing dirty about it. No yellow flags, but when done right and violently executed, will put the hurt on an opponent. Just what Tebow needs...all game long...lots and lots of hurt. This kid, Jeff Luc shows how it's done.

Although Eric Berry put a slobber-knocking hit on Moreno in that game last year, if he would've done this (instead of just throwing his shoulder and forearm into him), he would have brought some more pain into Knowshon's life.
I trust that Monte is emphasizing this in practice. But the extra emphasis on laying the wood to Tebow with every hit, and rewarding the top hit (by displaying on the wall going into the weight room) would certainly motivate the team to do so.

There's little doubt that the pep talk will center around terms like "underdogs", "no one believes in you", and "no respect".

I can aprreciate delusional optimism, but this is getting out of hand. nobody is knocking tebow out, esp. eb. 240 vs. 205 isn't much of a contest any way you cut it. say what you will about heart (which tebow also has plenty of) but physics is physics. you might as well have eb run headfirst into a steel reinforced concrete wall. as for anyone else? they won't be quick enough to square him up.
also worth mentioning- you're not the first team with the 'amazing idea' to knock tebow out. every week we hear some defensive players cry about disrespect and that their going to take tebow out, make him a non factor. give me a break. the kid plays with broken bones and still dominates.

Wlaker will be the guy to hit Tebow over and over in the backfield if our line is having any kind of success. Berry is too small to take Tebow on head on unless he cuts the knees or just wrap tackles.

I don't think Berry is realistically going to lay the wood to Tebow, but you mentioned physics like its impossible. Last time I checked, F=MA. If a lighter player is traveling at a great speed and makes contact with another who is either not, or not traveling in the same direction, he WILL have enough force to put a big hit on him regardless of the weight differential. That's physics.

Personally, I would go with "Regardless of what the score is we're going to hit them, and hit them, and then hit them some more. At the end of the game UF is going to thank God they don't have to play us again. And they are going to remember that we are Ten-Nuh-see"

But that's just me.

not disagreeing, mass x acc can do some damaged if you mess with the variables. but assuming tebow isn't standing still or otherwise blindsided, I don't see it happening. but ya, the possibility is there.

Since it's football shouldn't that be the message every game? What makes the UF game unique is the "us against the world" mentality.

Beat me to it :) its pretty obvious catfish never played football or he would know it is definately possible for a smaller player to lay a serious lick on a larger player. Its all about angles and speed. I do love all the trolls from various schools on our sites though, it goes to show people are nervous about what's going on at UT. GO VOLS!!!

yeah eb can lay a lick to people so its possible for him to light up tebow, its more likely for walker or rico though, as long as somebody does

While I'm thinking of it, a framed picture of the hit that makes Tebow blow snot bubbles  would make a great Christmas gift idea for any Vol fan on your list...don't you think? :pepper:

If it turns out to be Eric blowing him up...that highlight clip will certainly give his Heisman campaign some "legs."

I think they will do things like that. The thing i love about this couching staff is they are finally talking the way i always wanted tn coaches to talk. rem fulmer used to always talk about winning a sec championship....and kiffin is all about the national championship and going being the best and taking no crap....i love it...they are deff more in tune with todays players and fans...

I don't think it would be wise for Kiffin to try to motivate anybody by promising them anything.

You got that right lawgator. Especially since the guy laying the nastiest lick on Tebow is just going to bounce off.

They should go searching for some kryptonite.
