Mostella starting to blossom?

He needs more minutes. He needs time to get in a rhythm. He comes in plays a couple of minutes and gets taken out. Much higher ceiling than Punter.

I do wish that Mostella would play more, but losing opportunities for playing time is what happens when players make mistakes. The coach can't trade developing a player with reducing the chance to win the game. If you don't sit them down when they do what they're coached to not do their behavior will not change. If Mostella is sitting on the bench, that's on Mostella and not CDT. He doesn't get benched for missing shots. He gets benched for throwing the ball away or missing defensive assignments.

I predict he will be a huge scorer for us next season. He is raw will be tremendously better as a sophomore. He is much like Richardson was as a freshman look for huge improvement from him over the summer and every player on the team.

Seems like he and Richardson are opposites to me. One came in as an offensive minded recruit and the other a defensive minded recruit. Hopefully he makes enough strides in the offseason to be a permanent fixture in the rotation next season.

Yea he is more like McRae. Martin had to get McRae to buy in to team ball and playing defense. If CDT can do the same with DM there will be a similar trajectory to his career.

Shots just don't seem to fall for him, maybe rushing shot or some nerves but he is extremely aggressive on offense. Has the potential to put up some big numbers at some point in the future but may be junior year before he puts it all together.

He's got uber talent. Give him time

Agreed.! Just feel at some point he will have break out game. Maybe next year but the talent is there. I remember when Jajuan Smiths' production caught up with ability on soph year. He reminds me of Jajuan.

So what does he have that Punter does not? Hopefully all of these newcomers improve because I think we can have a solid roster in a couple of years.

An ability to take his man off the dribble for one. He hasn't shown as much of that as I'd like, but I've seen flashes. Punter has a good shot but is rarely able to get all the way to the rim. Both are pesky defenders in their own way. Stella has the lateral quickness to stay with most pgs(he just gets caught out of position too much right now) while KP reads passing lanes really well.
