Something looks off with Dickey’s wins. He did a great job rebuilding but his first season he had a losing record so 45 wins over 5 years seems overstated

Battle - 46

Heupel - 45

Neyland - 43

Dickey - 37

Wyatt - 33

Majors - 27

Who was the coach who filled in for Neyland when he was on military leave in the 30’s and 40’s? I think that guy had a solid record too although he didn’t have 5 consecutive years

Does anybody in here think that the big10 is as tough as the SEC top-to-bottom?

I think the B10 is topheavy. Their 3 or 4 best teams every year are as good or better than anyone's. The bottom 6 to 8 teams every year are terrible though and would go winless in the SEC conference games. Would not beat for example MSU, Florida, or Arkansas this year. Probably not Kentucky either. They have 6 to 8 teams that terrible every year.

Consider this:

247 composite ranks every FBS roster across all services. Every player on each team.

14 out of 16 SEC teams are in the top25. Then Kentucky is 27th.

Only 6 teams from the B10 are top25.

Top to bottom the SEC is far more talented. The best teams in the B10 are excellent though with unlimited NIL...AND the best coaching staff in the nation is at Indiana.

Not exactly sure about Wyatt but think he fits in with this; of that list, only Battle and Fulmer took over a winning program.

Pretty close.
Cignetti has 25 after win over Bama
Tom Allen and Bill Mallory both had 26

Only a couple of those coaches walked into an already established program.

Fulmer & Battle did.

Only one came here with the NCAA with camp set up
