Today I met with a Director of a major Media company. The guy is a Pitt Football Alum who played with Sunseri and knows Johnny Majors...Anyway, we start talking football when I told him I bleed orange he starts talking about Sal....I DOGGED him, saying he will not have job after this year. Low and behold guy picks up his phone and dials a number, puts it on speaker....F***ing Sal Sunseri answers, he said "Hey, sitting in front of a UT alum and Huge fan". Sal thanks me. I was floored and did not even respond. So this guy says "So this guy is telling me you won't have job next year". Sals response: laughed and said "is that right?" Then he took it off speaker and talked for like 5 more minutes about the son who now is the QB at Pitt.....AWKWARD.

He also showed me a text after NCSU game as well as having Majors number as well.

So what did the text say?

The guy said "the defense looked explosive" and congratulated him on win.

Sal said "Still have work to do and Thanks!"

They are really good friends, was very awkward. I even at one point told him Sal is a position coach not a DC, this is before I knew they were friends.

Also said Majors LOVES Tennessee and he does not understand why after he was back stabbed by Fulmer while he was out for heart surgery. Showed me pictures of him Sal and Majors

you didn't have it in you to explain that this is the worst defense in the history of Knoxville, TN, to include Jr High, and that the transition is either the dumbest idea ever or being taught by the worst teacher ever?

Maybe insulting business partners friends is ok in real life

True, if they were so close then why didn't he tell you to hit the road? I mean who calls their best friend on the phone and says, "hey dude, this guy said you're getting fired snark snark" just after losing a huge game 48 hours later. I'm sorry, I can't buy this one. Even more confusing is the whole speaker phone thing. Like Sals personal life is a joke...

Dude I have been a member here for six years and have never made **** up.

Again, the guy had a laugh about it. He defended Sal obviously.

Technically.....Sal can probably stay if he is willing to coach LBs....

Late to the party...as usual.

I've read the site for longer, didn't have an account though. I guess based on that logic I'm entitled to an opinion, or not?

Defense looked explosive? What games is he watching?

his buddy can text and/or call anyone he chooses and it's still very unlikely to salvage Sal's gig.
