Most Positive-Surprising Player from Ball State Game...

I’ll go with a guy that didn’t play much or start. Milton. Guy seemed to be making quicker decisions and putting the ball in places with good touch so plays could be made. Not only that, but he looked much faster this year, beating the D to the edge and picking up several yards.

I feel pretty good with our QB situation with Hendo Cinco and Milton

For me it was Ramel Keyton. He looked like a different dude than all his previous seasons. Bigger, stronger, faster, and his routes were spot on. I was thoroughly impressed with 80 this game.
I thought the same thing. Dude has been putting in some work in the weight room. Looked like a different player

Milton... It was nice to see him relaxed and having fun, and I was hard on "overthrow Joe" last season.

Also Banks.... He flew around the field like a madman (as he always does), but I was most impressed with his actions once the play was dead. I could see him thinking "don't do anything stupid". One play, he went to tap the helmet of the RB as if to say "good run", but pulled back and raised his arms before touching his helmet. Hoping his days of making costly mistakes are behind him.

I’ll go with Beasley and keyton as well. I was really disappointed in Beasley last year especially during the ky game. Will Levi’s just owned him. By the second quarter it was apparent Beasley was unwilling to take on Levi’s high so Levi’s would roll out and spot Beasley and go right at him. Beasley would dive at his ankles and Levi’s would go over the top for another 4+ years EVERY SINGLE TIME. There best play was will Levi’s going over the top of Beasley. It was terrible.
Now all that being said… I did read an article about Levi’s running ability recently and I don’t think Beasley is the ever only linebacker Levi has ever made his $itch. I didn’t realize that before maybe I overreacted a bit. However, I thought Beasley was much more physical and maybe I was a bit harsh.

Separately, I was really impressed with Keaton. There was one play last year where the deep ball was there (hooker put it in the perfect place) and could’ve went for a huge play but Keaton just did not possess the speed to run underneath it. The announcer (I believe it was Gary Danielson) pointed out that Keaton just didn’t have the gear that Peyton, Jones, and Tillman all possess. While that observation might be true, you don’t necessarily have to have that top end gear to be successful. Deandre Hopkins doesn’t have breakaway speed. But he has a huge wing span and quick stop/go ability and the amazing ability to contort his body to catch highly contested balls. We saw some of that out of keyton. Really big catch radius and excellent body control/hands. I’m really happy for him. I now believe he has a huge future here whereas last year I didn’t have that same optimism for him.
