Most Overrated

I was really disappointed with Leonard Scott. World class speed. The most overrated recruit has to be OJ Owens.

It's not really fair to label OJ Owens "overrated" IMO. Yes, he was a very hyped recruit and didn't do much of anything while he was here, but IIRC he had some pretty major non-injury related health problems that kept him from seeing the field.

I mean, if someone is a ballyhooed recruit, gets cancer (not saying that's what OJ had) and cant' get on the field due to undergoing chemo would we call him overrated? No.

My apologies if I'm thinking of someone else.

Mark Ingram in my opinion. he had a good year but not that good. I mean we totally shut him down and he fumbled against us that allowed us to get back in the game and if we had a DAMN KICKING GAME we would have beatin them

Payton Manning in my opinion.

These two now fall in the moronic category.

taylor mays is definitely up there. The people defending him clearly dont know what a great football player is. Taylor mays was nothing but size and fictional 40 time. His specialty was hitting defenseless recievers. He could not cover to save his life. Mays is near the top

There are several, but one that comes to mind is Gerald Riggs.

I'd say Riggs got caught in Fulmer's "seniors play first" rule. Can't remember who he played behind his first two years and am too lazy to research but almost certain they were pretty darn good. Definitely not a bust.

Bryce Brown? Taylor Mays? Wow just GTFO

No doubt, both these guys are not overrated, just because Mays didnt get drafted high, doesnt make him overrated, and just because BB is trying to decide what to do with his life doesnt make him overrated either. BB and Mays are both very talented individuals.

I would say this thread is overrated...
or
Nukeese Richardson and Lane Kiffin

Actually, all kidding aside, I think absolutely that Monte Kiffin is overrated. He probably never picked up the phone to recruit, he's running a defense that works well in the NFL when you don't have a scat back, and overall, his defense was not near the caliber of John Chavis. Not even close.

this would be my list, minus Jayson Swain, he was solid and had a good senior year, just hurt a lot. You could easily add Kenny O'neal to this list. how many Fulmer signing classes had an "all-world" player who never even played a down.....

most overrated recruit= Chris Donald
most overrated player= Michael Munoz I don't think he deserved all the awards and accolades he got.
