Munoz was an All-American based on his name only. How many other All-American offensive tackles have you ever seen go undrafted in the NFL draft without having suffered a catastrophic injury right before the draft? Munoz was way overrated, but Jabari Davis was an absolute waste of a uniform.

Kelley Washington set the single game receiving record. Casey Clausen could have won a lot more games if the running backs around him had played halfway decent his junior and senior year. If you look at the stats, his years were some of the most productive passing years UT has ever had. They were pretty crappy rushing stats, though. If our defense hadn't blown it in the SECCG, Casey would have won an SEC championship and gotten to play for a national title. Also, he straight dismantled Auburn's secondary in the final quarter and a half back in 2003. That was a great defense, and he ripped them pretty bad. Everybody blames that loss on him, because he threw an INT at the end. However, our defense couldn't have tackled a cheerleader that night and we had a grand total of 4 yards rushing. Clausen wasn't a bust. Washington was also very talented.

I have to agree. Casey Clausen and Kelly Washington were not overrated, at all. I would say that the most overrated Vol, IMO, was Michael Munoz. A lot of people place blame on J. Davis, Houston, and Riggs for not producing, however, Munoz was the supposed anchor of those lines...which did not produce many holes for our RBs.

Our line was so pathetic that with a 1st and Goal from inside the 3 against Miami, we could not gain a yard on. We settled for a field goal, our only 3 points of that game.

I hate to do this, but I gotta go with Riggs, Jr. even though most of it wasn't his fault. Never understood why the coaching staff loved Cedric Houston so much. Most of us were shocked when they named CH starter over GR for the '04 season.

Were it not for the 2004 SEC Championship game, I would agree. I'll go with either Joey Matthews, who was supposed to be a god-awful STUD coming out of Sevier County; or Kelley Washington, who had it all... if he only had a brain.

I have to go with Casey Clausen on this one also. I broke more TV remotes because of him. How many times in big games did the guy float a pass over the middle of the field that was intercepted by a linebacker or safety? He was supposed to be the next great UT quarterback, and what did he ever really win given the talent surrounding him? My point is that the team did not live up to expectations when he was our quarterback. I also realize how our expectations can be to high thanks to Clausen. Which is why I am guarded when people say we should win 10 or 11 games. The fact is we were spoiled for 12 or so years starting with Kelly and ending with Martin.

WOW, I thought Casey was a pretty good QB at UT. Maybe I am by myself, but I thought he was a winner.

Bryce Brown and David Oku! Based on the number of posts about two kids who have never played a down of college football. I hope I'm wrong though...on OKU!

I liked Ainge. I think that Crompton will top this list, although he does have a year for redemption.

other than 2001 and maybe 2002(if not for witten and washington...among others), clausen was probably surrounded by some of the least talented teams that had been at ut at the time. he did well considering with what little he had to work with in the last few years.

Wow. I am suprised anyone even remembered Eric Locke. I saw him play in high school at Riverdale, and he was an absolute beast on both sides of the ball. 2-time Mr. Football. I think he could have been great if not for his thievery.

I dont consider Brian Darden and jabari davis overrated they were flat out busts.
Players thought got too much attention for not doing squat are overrated.
I used to think E Ainge was till this last season. But I think I will go with G Riggs and C Clausen.
