When the program is down to where it was when Dooley took over it matters. And the SEC has NEVER been this strong Ever. Trying to rebuild a program with no talent base against championship programs with excellent talent bases will not be quick nor easy. Or pretty. Why do you think no REAL coach took it? Nobody is making excuses for Dooley. He don't need them and they are worthless in my opinion anyway. These are the facts of our situation.

Many delusional people here actually believe that the internet and here on VN isn't where alot of our players and our best recruits come to see what the so-called fanbase is saying, LMAO!

Recruits and their parents come here to VN just like they go to every fan site of every school they're seriously considering commiting to.

My son is a S in high school and if Tennessee was recruiting him he and I would come here to see what the fanbase is saying about the coaches and the players so we could get as much information as we could find and evaluate everything since we would already know what all the coaches say.

When recruits and their parents come on here and see this so-called fanbase calling all the coaches such horrid names and talking so badly about then then WHY would any recruit or their parents want to keep Tennessee high on their list of schools to come play at?

When recruits and their parents come on here and see so many so-called fans bashing, belittling and calling our Tennessee players such horrid names and saying such garbage about our own players then WHY would any kids want to come play for Tennessee so he can be so badly mistreated too?

I bleed Tennessee Orange but if I came on here and read all the total crap on here I would tell my son take Tennessee OFF his recruiting list and we'll look at the other schools making him offers of a schollie because my son does NOT deserve to be treated like the so-called fans on here treat our coaches and players and my son deserves lots better that what's seen here on VN.

People are totally DELUSIONAL if they think recruits and their parents don't come here to VN to learn as much as they can.

This happens to be the internet age and every school in America teaches computers and the internet.

Even my daughter knew how to get on the internet when she was only 6 years old.

Titan&VolFan4Life I saw a similar post from you yesterday. Hunter will not be back. Repeat, Hunter will not be back. He is projected as a top pick.

Dooley has had 3 years with no significant win. I wanted to see him do well; however, he has not beaten anyone and lost to KY. That alone is reason for him to go.

We will have all of our opinions validated soon one way or another.

No excuse. We are not a top 5 team based on talent. There is nothing on defense I want other than McCullers. All the good secondary players we do have are frosh (good recruiting job Dools). They will make the next coach look good. Linebackers have severely underachieved. We have a very good o-line. Nothing at running back. A non-committed qb. CP is a great talent. But not nearly polished at wideout. Hunter is either still hurt or waiting for the draft. Or both. There you have it. We are not getting blown up physically (the kicked around comment), but we needed much better play from the guys we do have. We did not get it. Thus we lost our "real" games this year. -- The players who should be leading us to victory have turned out to be soft and mushy. Like wet bread. Cant win this league with guys like that. Dooley will pay the price (and get paid) but we will be left searching for an identity. Again GoVols.

We went toe to toe with everyone but bama. Easily could have won scar, ms st and ga. Win those and this is a completely different discussion. Unfortunately we didn't and now we wait and see what (if anything) happens to the coaching staff.

Hunter does not have a single big play against our rivals since his freshman year against UF. Bray's best game came against South Carolina, after our season was lost. Dooley takes the heat as coach. No doubt. Nobody has argued he shouldn't. But players must be accountable and invest in their own performance. They don't get a free pass. I HIGHLY doubt Sal coaches letting yourself get blocked and then stay blocked while the runner goes 75 yards. I would bet he does not tell Moore to NOT intercept those balls that float down the middle on us week after week. Maybe, but I don't believe it.

^^^This has to be one of the best posts I have seen in 4 years on this board! Myself (op), should have worded it this way. I just wanted to point to all of us that wish we were in the 90s again. The SEC is much stronger than it was back in the 90s and early 00s!!! During Majors tenure of 16 years the SEC won 4 NCs, Bama 3, UGA 1. During Fulmer tenure of 16 years the SEC won 6 NCs, UF 3, LSU 2, UT 1. Of course, that is 10 NCs in 32 years. During Dooley's tenure the SEC is dominating and have won all three NC titles like Fulmers last 2 years and Kiffin's 1.

Don't think for one minute that just any coach can come in the SEC and bring us back to prominence!!! UF was irrevelant before Spurrier turned them into a powerhouse! Now, he has turned USC into a powerhouse. Arkansas was irrelevant before Petrino. MSU was irrelevant before Dan Mullen. LSU was irrelevant before Saban and Miles turned them into a powerhouse. Bama was irrelevant before Saban winning TWO OUTRIGHT SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 27 YEARS prior to SABAN's ARRIVAL!!! Yes, that is right! The mighty crimson won ONLY 2 SEC Championships in 27 years!!! Bama tried for 27 years to get the right coach. They finally got theirs. You people amaze me. You think anyone can just walk in the door and compete in the SEC. It isn't going to happen. That is why US RATIONAL FANS who are tired of mediocrity too know UT better keep Dooley unless another Saban, Miles, or Spurrier is hired!!!

You are the most delusional and immature poster here. You always say Gators , UGA, Floriduh and other immature things. I honestly thought you were a high school student by your post. And you don't live in the real world when it comes to DD. You claim you aren't a big Dooley supporter then you make up stuff to make him look better.

For example you claim every other good SEC team has 40 to 60 NFL players to our 20. This is laughable. No team has that many NFL players. We also have way more draft able and high draft picks on o than any team we play. D we have a few . Talent is there, coaching is not. You refuse to acknowledge this fact.

You claim Dooley is a great recruiter and is recruiting well currently. DD has gotten worse every year. He is running out of kids LK laid the groundwork on like AJ Johnson. The rest of DD best players besides CP are LK guys . Dooley has been average to below average. We are 9th or 10th right now in the SEC.

You are delusional. The SEC is 10 times stronger than it was 80 yeas agao. It is 3 times stronger than it was 15 years ago. Prior to 1996, Bama won several over a 65 year period. Who else from the SEC won a NC? Of course, UT one 1 to 3 depending on the poll. Starting in 1996, the SEC has won 9 NCs in 16 years!!!
