All I want to know is when the second season tickets go on sale.

Let's see...we started in Year 0, Had Year 1, Year 2 didn't start so well, so we have a Year 2 version 2.0.

All a bit confusing. Still wind up 0 for October since he arrived.

So now we're blaming Hunter's performance on the fact that he's coming off major knee surgery??? I seem to recall homers a plenty screaming at me in August that he was 100% and will blow everyone away this year, and to just stop being so negative. Were you one of those? Hmm?

He definitely looks affected out there. Hits the deck shortly after contact or catch. The drops certainly are a new development this year. You were 100% right.

Well you are not that confused then.

yes.. bray has developed.

Hunter has how many starts AND is coming off a major injury?

Special teams are much better, I no longer cringe every time we kick off thinking they are going to take it to the house on us. Opposing teams field position is not nearly as bad as what it was last year..

Even palardy seems to be coming around, still has not been tested on a long field goal etc.. but at least we made all of our extra points.

And those 5 teams, minus maybe bama.. all thought they were going to lose at some point in those games, and they respect our offense.

We just need to get our defensive problems fixed, and the Vols will be back in the upper ranks of the SEC, where they belong...

Now the question is.. Can Dooley be the coach that does it?

I honestly do not know.. I hope he can, to vindicate himself against all of these attacks from people who can't see anything but W & L, even given the circumstances he started with.

But if not and Hart goes a different direction after the season, Then I will support the next coach instead of attacking him.. that I know for sure

In the end, Wins & Losses are all that matters. Dooley said it himself, they aren't getting it done in that department. The way the rest of the season plays out will see if he can show improvement. You don't go from piss poor to world beaters in 1 season. Winning the next 4 shows that we can and will beat the average to below average teams and will give people something to look forward to.

Has any other team ever played their first 5 SEC games against all top 15 teams?

Highly unlikely. But no one wants to consider that because it's not a part of their agenda. Kind of like how the media keeps harping on Romney cutting FEMA but conveniently skipping over the fact that Obama said he'd do the same.

Do you guys realize all 5 losses are to SEC (hands down the toughest conference in college football, unprecedented) teams in the top 15 of the BCS with a combined record of 36-5? Of course, all 5 losses are to those in the top 15 of the BCS. Do you remember UT was competitive in all 5 losses except 1? Do you realize no one has been competitive with Bama this year? Do you realize that UT had a very good chance of winning 3 of those games with last years DC? Whoever brought in an unproven DC needs to be fired now!!! If it was ultimately Dooley, see ya Dooley. If not, fire whoever brought in Sal. The D is PATHETIC!!!

So it's ok to lose our first five conference games for the past 3 years as long as those losses are to teams in the top 15... And it's ok to be a bottom feeder in the SEC since the SEC is such a strong conference! So Tennessee fans should accept losing on a regular basis.

Well you know what, the SEC has been the dominate conference since the BCS started. And the SEC shows no signs of weakening. So I guess Tennessee fans should accept being worse than average in perpetuity!

GTFO!!!! Tennessee does not need fans that accept mediocrity!

Honestly no games really meant anything in 2012 except Vandy and UK. As long as Dooley beats Vandy by at least 1 in regulation and beats UK by 1, he deserves a 5 year extension and a 1.5 million dollar raise. Be realistic people!! That would be HUGE improvement!!

Probably.. sounds like something I would do :loco:

Seriously though, don't think I ever said he was for sure 100%.. I did have very high hopes for him this year.

I do feel he has done decent considering circumstances, but he still has a lot of work to do to be what we all know he could be..

Don't think we will see that at Tennessee. He will leave early for NFL after this year. No reason for him to stay if he is a top pick

you do not go from a completely depleted team to top 15 in one or even two years.

I will be the first to admit I expected much more then what we were given this year, and I am very disappointed.

But if you look at it without the emotion and with logic.. we have improved, we are scaring the hell out of teams and coaches that blew us out of the stadium last year.

Am I saying I accept mediocrity.. hell no! But I do understand that it cant happen overnight. Anyone that expects that is doomed to a life of disappointment.

If we can get a huge name homerun hire like gruden, we cant pass that up.

But to just blindly say fire dooley when we are not sure who we can get to replace him is just insane IMO.

Test the waters.. see who might be interested, If we are positive we can hit a homerun.. Do it!

If we would be forced to take another chance on someone.. why bring that turmoil on ourselves again?

Let me take these one at a time.

Show me where Bray has Progressed. Hint look at his numbers vs SEC teams they are the same for 3 years.

Hunter is NOT the same players and looking to get paid ( i dont blame him)

Palardy - anything over 40 yards is an adventure and what about our 6 and 15 yards punts...

Im glad they respect our offense thats 1/3 of the game.

W & L are how coaches and Quaterbacks are measured get over it.

Your logic makes no sense but he agree to disagree i guess....:peace2:

Coach Majors never would have made it in today's game. He took a while to get the program going and was coming off a national championship

Bray.. He is not just a gun slinger anymore, starting to make smarter decisions and even with all the negativity our fans have shown him this year.. he came out and played his best game ever and it was against a top D and ranked team, does he still need to improve.. of course he does. He knows that just as much as anyone else does.

I am not convinced that is true about hunter at all.. that is all speculation from people who do not know him at all. Its easy to make those kind of assumptions given how high his expectations are. But to me, it just looks like he is still afraid on contact a little, There are very few who do not have that problem in the year directly after a knee injury.

Palardy is not a punter and has not practiced that position due to his concentration on fixing his FG problems. I said in original post he has not proven the long field goal thing yet, but I can definitely see he is making progress and slowly getting confidence back.

Yes.. W&L is how your remembered and what ultimately matters, but at the same time we are moving forward and not backwards.

Blindly firing Dooley and having to take a chance on another unproven coach would be moving backwards.. there is 0 chance anyone who could get drafted from our team in any round would stay unless our new hire is a huge name home run coach..

Thats all I am saying.. Is lets not take a step backward due to emotions running high. We need an absolute HOMERUN HIRE, or we need to give Dooley another year, If he keeps us moving forward, Then next year we win a few of those close games and UT keeps becoming a better place.

Majors ' record at Iowa State in his first 4 years was 19-24-1. His first 4 years at U.T. was 21-23-1.

I don't know how good of a coach that Dooley will be because all he has ever done is rebuild. He has spent about 6-7 years trying to turn chicken manure into chicken salad. In that way, he is like Majors.

And do you realize we haven't won 1 meaningful conference game under Dooley. It doesn't matter what they're ranked, we play these teams every season and it's not acceptable to never beat any of them.

Exactly. What do people want us to switch conferences or just be happy giving good teams a game?
