Most memorable UT game you attended?

I am probably going to have to go with 07 Kentucky. Watching that 4 OT thriller to win the SEC East was just great. I was in the Pride of the Southland and remember even with the heavy uniforms freezing my butt off. Arian Fosters TD pass on the first play of the game made me think we had the game easy. Of course we make it interesting. After Ainge threw an INT in the second OT I just had a feeling we were going to lose. Once we held them, i kept asking myself "I can't remember the last time we have blocked a field goal...this would be a great time for one." Low and behold we did. It was a great game and one I will never forget.

Honorable Mention: Probably the 2007 Georgia game. I was born and raised in georgia and so I have many friends that go to uga. It was great to shut them up after we romped them 35-14. They were speechless.

Willie Gault's TD return v. KY, ('81?) was pretty exciting for a youngsters first game.

1968..Tenn 10 Bama 9..That was the game where Jimmy Weatherford blocked a late Bama FG attempt. Karl Kremser set a then record a 49 yd FG. The Tenn band did the circle drill for the first time (ABC was televising the game). ALso the day(as legend says), Scott Hunter (AL QB) tried to kick Smokey, who was growling and barking at him. Bear reportedly told Hunter that they had enough trouble up here without kicking Tenn's dog.

Number 1 - The 1992 Florida game in the rain. I will never forget the Mose Phillips run.

Number 3 - The Alabama rout in 1995 in Legion Field. Open the game with an 80 yard TD. Ended the eight year run by the Tide. I remember singing Rocky Top well into the night at a Bar called Louie Louie's in Birmingham.

I was at those tow and the Bama rout was my favorite.

Also must add the five overtime debacle in Tuscaloosa in 2005. I will always love casey for that win.

Its hard enough living in Alabama without discussing football so every bama win is great.

Saw the 03 win too in tuscaloosa.

The 98 win in auburn kicks ass. What a goal line stand.

One of the best games was an Auburn game. I sat in the freaking rain all game and wached us beat them like 21-14. It was totally unexpected. At the time it was one of the all time best games I had ever watched.

Ok, we had lots of fun with the "First UT game you've attended" thread, now let's add to the memories.

Someone suggested a most memorable UT game thread, so, here we go!

I've been to lots of great ones. 2006 Cal, 2006 UF, 2007South Carolina, 2007 Vandy, all when I was a student.

But the best BY FAR had to be 2004 versus UF. When we got the TD that made it 27-28, the student section was going crazy. No one was even paying attention during the PAT when Wilhoit choked. I think I was the only one watching the try, and I yelled without even thinking, "HE MISSED IT!" Everyone around me then stopped celebrating, and looked at the scoreboard to see it was still 27-28, and it got completely silent. It was like a punch in the gut.

Later, when Wilhoit kicked the winning 50 yard FG, it was classic. Right after the kick, before we even knew it was good, my friend screamed, "Holy S---!" And it was just complete chaos once the ref raised his arms. I was jumping up and down, and missed the bleacher on like the 3rd jump, and landed on the guy standing in front of me. It caused a domino effect about 10 rows down.

What an unbelievable game. Instant classic. One of the most memorable experiences of my college days!:)

I was at that game myself. I was a sophomore at the time. It was the best game I have ever seen to this day in any sport. If I'm not mistaken, that is when we set the 109,000+ attendance record at Neyland that still stands to this day. I actually had a lot of friends from other SEC schools visiting me that weekend too and they all agreed it was one of the best -if not the best- games they had ever been to as well. What a great game!

Has to be the '91 Notre Dame game at South Bend. A buddy and I drove up the night before and slept in the car and almost froze to death. The first half was all Notre Dame and the second half was all Tennessee! What was so cool was a bunch of Tennessee fans (myself included) jumped the wall and went onto the field. All the players went into the locker room, then Johnny Majors let them come back onto the field and mingle with the fans. The look on the Tennessee player's faces after that game was what college football is all about. I remember slapping Andy Kelly on his pads, shaking his hand and telling him, "Awesome game, man!" He responded "Thanks man!" The smile on his face was priceless because he was trying not to smile and act like it was just another game...but he couldn't hold it back. Best game I have ever been to in my life, hands down.

I would have loved to have been there. It was on of Johnny's best ever, a close second to Miami in the Sugar Bowl

I was at both games. The Gaffney "catch" was a joke. I still get mad when I think about that. To this day, I don't get it. :furious3:

I gotta say the 99 or 2000 game(I forgot) against Notre Dame! That was the loudest I have ever heard that stadium. Notre Dame was the only team to score a rushin TD against us that yr. (Still dont think he was in) I went back and watched a recordin of it and u could barely hear the announcers.

For me it was the Manning v. Couch game in Lexington. Fun, FUN game to watch.

watched that game from a motel in Bucksnort after hunting all day. The genius manager thought that the 2nd qtr of a UT football game would be a good time to try and fix the cable in his motel. A fellow hunter ran out of his room wearing only his camo overalls and had a talk to him about it. Only thing I heard him say was "you don't mess around with a UT football game when your motel is filled with rednecks with guns." Not sure how much English the mgr spoke but he did get the message.
