Most impressive Vol performance:

I thought you meant in person. If so, Tony Robinson against Auburn.

If overall, the Chuck Webb performance. Also, Carl Pickens had a big game against someone in a bowl. Johnnie Jones had a couple 200+ yarders. Tony Thompson and Greg Amsler came up big against Virginia. etc. etc. etc.

I believe Dustin Colquitt single handedly beat usc jr. one year. He pinned them behind the five 4-5 times. Lou holtz was livid.

Lots of impressive performances already listed.

I'll add, Hubert Simpson's 4 touchdown day vs. Notre Dame in '79.

Rick Clausen vs. LSU in 2005 was simply beautiful. I had chillbumps when Riggs got in the endzone in OT to win the game.

I am going to show my age here. 85' Dale Jones came out of knowwhere. 88' at Ole Miss I remember Ray Robinson Could barley walk ( he had knee surgery the week before) he played the whole damn game.
Jeff Hall in the opening game in 98' hit the winning field goal against Syracuse. Travis Stephens Vs Arkansas in 01 was nice.

I can't tell you the year but when Dale Carter was on the line of scrimmage yelling at Florida's QB (who's name escapes me) in the first half and then returned the second half kick off for the TD. The rout was on.

Can't top the ones already mentioned, but I remember Deon Grant's 3 ints vs Auburn, 1999 or 2000.

I know we didn't win but I'd like to nominate Gerald Riggs in the SEC championship game in 2004 against undefeated Auburn. 11 carries, 182 yds, 2 TDs, including that big 80 yarder.

Jamal Lewis vs. Georgia in 1997.

232 yards on 22 carries...
3 catches for 15 yards.

None of his runs were that long either, he was just getting over 10 yards nearly every time he touched the ball.

Billy Ratliff vs Clint Stoerner (SP???) in 1998 Arky game in the 4th... TEE, DON'T TAKE YA HAT OFF!

Didn't Grant leave after the NC year? The one INT I remember from that game was a screen pass, he intercepted it and could have walked into the endzone.

I think it was in 1989 or 1990,but Chuck Webb had 294 yards rushing against Ole Miss.

That was a great one - I was there to see it in person. If I had to pick Chuck Webb's best performance I would go with the 1990 Cotton Bowl vs Arkansas.

Chuck Webb had 250 yds, 2 TDs - including a 78 yarder that is one of the best I've ever seen.

Big game against a big time opponent - Arkansas won Southwest Conference that year.

Travis Stephens' performance against Florida in 2001 tops this one, but it is close.

Grant, Cosey Coleman & Jamal all left after '99 season.

I think Deon ran one of those 3 INTs back for TD on Auburn's 1st drive in the '99 Auburn game.

Tee Martin's 3 game streak in 1999 against UGA, Alabama and Notre Dame. He was unstoppable in that run and against the #4 Ranked Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa came off the trainers table at halftime to win his 2nd consecutive SEC Player of the Week award. People forget just how deadly he was as our qb.

Good one, that was 1989. Also in 1989, Carl Pickens performance against LSU. He took over that game. Tony Thompson in 1990 against MSU is a good one. It was his first start after Webb went down and he scored like 5 times in that game on long runs.

The single most dominating performance w/o all of the offensive stats however has to go to Al Wilson against FL in '98. He won that game for us when no one else could keep up with the Gators.

Agreed. Ainge v goalpost + defender will unfortunately live forever in my memory.

That was the most God awful throw I have ever saw. Looking back now though, since we won it was pretty hilarious.
