Point is, we should have won this ball game and I think we will still win at least 6-7 games this year.

Why do we consistently do this to ourselves? Hope springs eternal, I guess.

Altho I will say after seeing the scores of the other average teams they have to play, I.feel a little better.

We had some things go our way, but we just ain't there yet, so frustrating.
How many overthrown balls did Milton have? Dude has zero touch on the ball. He's not the answer.
Stupid penalties, bad luck.
We'll get em next week right?

Total yards. Tennessee. 374. Pitt. 397

First downs. Tennessee. 20. Pitt. 24

Turn overs. Tennessee. 3. Pitt. 0

Penalty yards Tennessee. 134 Pitt. 76

The 134 yards in penalties was the second most in Tennessee history. The penalties and turn overs were the deciding factors in the game. The VOLs average 4.1 yards per carry to 2.1 for Pitt. The VOLs averaged 10.2 yards per pass completion while Pitt averaged 12. The 3 turn overs were the most costly while our blocked punt only took 2 seconds off the clock but was a quick 7 points. Point is, we should have won this ball game and I think we will still win at least 6-7 games this year.
Penalties were unforgiveable today! What's more, it was mostly veteran players that were guilty. Offensive line looked shoddy & soft too many times. Great teams just don't make mistakes like this. No reason for the Vols to NOT have won this game.

That makes about as much sense as eating a rotten egg.

Pittsburgh did what it needed to do to win; Tennessee did not. Just think what Tennessee did and did not do on two drives that neared the goal line and failed to score touchdowns. We can go on and on about things Tennessee did to lose and did not do to win.

We made had multiple realities, break downs in blocking, tackles behind the LOS, players slipping on the turf, : you name it
We had the first and goal on about the 2-3 yard line and ended up back past the 30 yard line. Must of those mistakes can be corrected. we also had only one running back that was ready to play. The offense has to get its act together we want to beat Kentucky or Missouri. We will beat South Carolina and Vandy because we will be playing a lot better football.
