Someone on the other board claims that a good source is saying that Davenport isn't as much of a lock to LSU as people think and that his interest in LSU is only due to it being the local school. The guy says he isn't a lock to UT but that we have better than 50% shot. Reminds me of the Marvin Austin situation with someone claiming big info. I agree with ViA. He will hold out from committing to LSU long enough to make us think that we are really gonna land him and then he'll be a Tiger.
I think Moses is a beast but it isn't near as big a need and we have some other very solid prospects at OL that we are in the thick of it for. DT is a whole other monster and Davenport is top notch. The problem is that we have a better shot at Moses than with Davenport.
I'll still take Davenport. We're already taking 3 JUCO DL and alot of these guys will take a year to break into division 1 shape. Davenport could be the next big DT at UT for a few years rather than just one.
how bout moses?? what is this kid 6'7" 345 lbs or something crazy like that?? i'll be able to give some updates around fall break when i head home from tennessee for the week.. he goes to high school about 20 minutes from me so i'm going to atleast try and see one of his games..
I only say Moses and Oline because behind DT I think O line is the next most important to land at least 2 top notch players to step in in a couple years.
Actually the more I think about it the more I push Brown down my list of major wants/needs. I think Jelani Jenkins would be #3 on my list, maybe a tie for #2. I dont include Bullard because I feel good about already having him in Orange.
