Who are the five opposing coaches you detest/detested the most? For now, let's limit it to football.

5) Urban Meyers- He thinks he's better than everyone else
4) Lou Holtz(does he still count?)- He thinks he knows everything and he always picks anybody that's playing UT
3) Tommy Tuberville-Just because
2) Steve Spurrier-I just love to hate him

and finally
1) Frank Beamer- Well I just can't stand that crazy goober! He's just a big fat cheater sometimes. I just don't like anything about him.

Right now UGA coach.Actually any team that starts to dominate us I detest. So I detest all 6 coaches that beat us last year. :bad:

1. Steve Spurrier -- this guy has to be the worst, for a number of reasons: he beat us consistently...he always had wise-azz comments to make about our team...and, to add salt to the wound, he's a home-grown Tennessean.

2. Lou Holtz -- his voice is reason enough. And his approach was so stale...of course we were the better team, but to hear Holtz tell it, you'd think it he was coaching a intramural flag-football team. He could take the New England Patriots into Austin-East High and claim he didn't have a chance on Friday night.

3. Bear Bryant -- I wasn't around while he was coaching, but I know how well he dominated the national landscape. Gen. Neyland had a lot of success against the Bear, but no one else did.

4. Tommy Tuberville -- we can't beat him.

5. Woody Widenhofer -- maybe this should be Bobby Johnson, since he actually got the win...but Widenhofer's defenses were incredible and for a few years, that Vandy game was always a nail-biter. There was a 12-7 game, a 17-10 game I think...anyway, that game seemed tougher under Widenhofer than it needed to be.

Bill Walsh (SF 49ers and the Standford Cardinal) - Because he stated "The Vols just aren't in the same class as Notre Dame" on a nationally televised game that he was announcing. Of course, UT then came back to kick the **** out of the Irish. What a totally classless move for an analyst, though.

I'm sure the Vanderbilt coach would take great delight in knowing that someone considered his team enough of a threat to actually detest him.

That would be Les Miles.

And I cant figure out why you guys have a disdain for Meyer....? Seriously.

Now that was just a waste and a silly question. As if you didn't know that SOS would be the overwhelming pick.

Guy got under everyone's craw because his Gators dominated the SEC and because his quips got under your skin. Absolutely no other reason to dislike him. He didn't play dirty, he recruited well within the limits, he did everything right -- except lose to UT.

He also really irritated a lot of people by running up the score. People didn't like to see starters staying in the game when the Gators were up by 28 in the 4th. I think the last time Spurrier's Gators played UGA in Athens he did a play action long bomb that resulted in a TD even though the Gators were blowing out the Dawgs and the game was almost over. I forget exactly what happened, but Georgia fans remember it angrily.

By the way, I really dislike Bill Callahan at Nebraska.

Bill Curry because when he covers a Tenn game you can tell he hates them. Gene Stallings because he reminded me of the Bear with that rough voice. Mike Dubose because I couldn't stand to look at him; and listen. I can't believe no one has mentioned Donnan, remember him cussing out Fulmer in front of his daughter. I've always kinda liked Spurrier because he spoke the truth, he didn't sugar coat things. After the 2000 game just moments after the phantom catch by Jabar Gafney, he stated "well the sun was shining on the gators today." How many coaches would say there team was lucky before he even walked off the field. I don't like Tubberville because if you watch them play he complains about the calls continuously.

Not surprising that you would only see his good traits. A lot of people dislike Spurrier for more reasons than his record against UT.

It's also understandable that UF fans love him. He coached the only successful term in school history.

(and I don't think anyone said he cheated but I would argue that he did NOT do "everything right")

I loathe Spurrier. No other coach even comes to mind when thinking about least favorite.

I've actually got to disagree with you about Bill Curry. Last year I was watching a game on espn that Curry was announcing. I can't even remember the two teams playing. Anyway, Curry's broadcasting partner started going on and on about the Vols off the field problems. Curry continued calling the game, but the other guy kept bringing up our off the field problems. Finally, Curry kind of snapped at the guy and started defending us. It's been awhile so I can't remember exactly what he said, but I do remember Curry defending us and then saying something like "Let's get back to the football game." I was proud of Bill that day.

I do agree with you though on Dubose and Donnan. I couldn't stand those two guys.

Agree with you also about Spurrier. I actually always kind of liked the guy. Sometimes I wish Fulmer had his fire and attitude/cockiness. Not to mention his offensive system.

As far as my top 5 most hated coaches:

5. Lou Holtz
4. Mike Dubose
3. Tommy Tuberville
2. Les Miles
1. Urban Meyer (Already can't stand the guy)

Yeah, you all should be ashamed. You're making Urban cry again.

I think that disdain comes from the fact that the media immediately crowned him the new king of the SEC before he even played a single game; that is why I don't really care for him, he seems like a nice guy but I just don't think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread and I don't think he will ever accomplish what Spurrier did during his time as a Gator.
