What do you feel is this teams most glaring need?
- Kicker? We may be 6-1 right now with a Fuad Reveiz or Jeff Hall
- Linebacker? Kirkland is developing into a fine player and will probably be all conference before he leaves here. Could use some depth though
- Defensive backs? Seems like every game we fail to stop our opponent from making a game winning drive as they throw the ball all over the field on us.Sure would be nice to have another Deon Grant type player.
-O Lineman? I think we have some fine young lineman and the fact we started 2 true freshmen on the right side of our line and still had a chance to win is amazing to me. I think our young lineman are going to be a huge improvement over what we have had the past few years once they get some more experience.

Bottom line I think we need players that can make plays in the secondary and a kicker and we could win 9 or 10 games next season

Three things. First, more time to develop our talent. Second, another good recruiting class to give us much needed depth. Third, about 5% of our fan base which are negavols to go root for Candy! That's about it.

Good post. We desperately need more talent in secondary & reliable kicker.

LB's most glaring need to me. JRM has a nose for the ball but is undersized IMO. He looks great in space where he can utilize his speed but struggles taking on linemen. After him were hurting. Kirkland May one day develop but isn't very good right now. We've signed several guys we were all excited about but they've not shown up on the field? Hope the TN boys they have committed for 2016 pan out!

All your comments have merit. The big takeaway from today is that all parts of the team played well enough to win except the field goal unit. I know there are many parts to this unit, but of the four kicks that were attempted, the only one that even came close was the one that Saban had called time out. Medley has really regressed this year. With a good kicker, the Vols are 6-1.

Right now, our OL is way overmatched against the top defensive fronts like UA, UF, OU. I consider that the main difference in the game today. Future looks bright, but that's future.

Secondly, we are thin at DL again and it showed from time to time today. But, they overperformed at times and were downright disruptive against a big time OL today. Need to recruit a few more there.

Third, we need a kicker who can win us a game.

Fourth, Hate to say it, but our offensive coaching needs to scout a little better and bring a smarter game plan. Two times in the 2nd & 3rd quarter, we "rode the back of our weakness against the strength of there D", and the results were predictable. A scissors play up the middle, QB quick draw up the middle, and misdirection up the middle should have been decided to be nothing more than a play designed to keep their D honest. This could have been decided by last Sunday's coaches meeting. There is not a snowballs chance in hell that our anemic OL (our #1 weakness) is going to get a push against their defensve front seven (their teams #1 strength). I would rate our OL about 75-90th in the nation, and I would rate their Front 7 about 1st-3rd in the entire nation. Yet, before the 1/2 needing a score, in the 3rd needing a score, and on the 1st play of the final drive needing an 80 yard drive to win it, Debord and Jones STILL run it right up the gut with those odds stacked against them. Somehow, they should have learned from OU & UF, where this strategy cost us victory perserving drives. While, a lot was impressive today from our coaches, they obviously cannot see this obvious mismatch. I honestly don't know why.

I agree with LB's and Kickers. We need some big mean tackles like BAMA and LSU has if the Vols want to have a chance against top opponents in the run and pass game.

A center. Thomas was destroyed in this game and hasn't been that great all year. This team cannot afford pressure up the middle.

You could start and end with time and depth.

Whoever is calling the offensive plays is a VERY slow learner. Also, we knew Bama would bring the house on the last drive (we don't do this but successful defenses usually do) but we had Dobbs drop straight back, knowing they would be coming after him. Someone either panics at the end or just doesn't undeerstand the competition tendencies.

Businesses in competitive markets do this all the time, its called a "SWOT" analysis (Internal strengths/weaknesses and external opportunities/threats). I would have thought football coaches would coach/scheme/play to their own teams strengths and likewise to their opponents weaknesses (even when they're very few as in 'Bama's D). With the salaries they're earning, this type of work shouldn't be a mystery.

O line. Jalen Hurd deserves national recognition, as CJ said. His yards after contact have to be out of this world.

O line will get better with time. We have some good young players on the line. We need some defensive backs that will make a play on the ball. Our secondary is very average

Alabama took advantage of our man coverage. They're true freshman wr won several 50/50 balls over our best corner. Sutton has to make those plays

I gained some more respect for CBJ tonight when he gave Medley his 100% support! He knows Medley's capabilities more than some of these negavols who are bashing this kid.

To put it another way, he has the ***** to do what he thinks is right, despite some of the negavols armchair coaches.

Go Medley, keep your head up, keep grinding, and ignore some idiots who post on volnation! You CAN BE one of our greatest kickers, stay focused!

Most glaring need is this team needs to win. The gap has closed dramatically, we can beat beat this subject to death. Butch took this team to Tuscaloosa, had the lead with 5 minutes to go. We were not a kicker away, we were 1 stop away! I wonder how many teams in the last seven years have had the lead with 5 to go at bama? Not many I would guess. We are good enough, time to kick the door down!
