What really was unfortunate was that the plethora of rapid mistakes turning the ball over early in the game never gave the crowd a chance to be a factor. I took my wife to her first Florida game and told her afterwards that she was truly deprived of an electric atmosphere that is so typical of a Tennessee-Florida game. I mean the crowd can only be emotionally engaged for so long.
You should have seen the mass exodus of orange leaving the stadium at halftime. My buddy and I couldn’t believe what we were seeing, but you hope that with the financial and emotional investment you put into a Saturday at Neyland against a bitter rival that your return on said investment would justify the means. We were served a s*** sandwich with a second helping last night. I hate for the players and I hate it for our fans.
Time to weed out the loser mentality of the remaining Butchites on the team. Going to be a long, hard journey back to even semi-relevance. Never thought I’d see this tradition-rich program with endless resources fall so hard and far into the pit of misery. At least we have fly fishing on the weekends to dull the pain. Maybe we can steal one SEC game, but that’s looking highly doubtful barring significant improvement from everyone involved.
Oh yeah, and **** the Haslams and other powers that be for not giving a crap about our program being successful again. Go Vols!! I’ll hang up and listen....
