The record is 43 games in a row.
UT is tied for #8 with 26 games in a row over Kentucky.
Two more wins UT is tied for 5th.
3 more wins UT is tied for 4th all-time.
As bad as UT football has been, it's nice UT kept this going.

It's definitely been a positive to keep the streak alive through the down years. Although, I was quite fond of the bowl streak.

The bowl streak was definitely better, but as bad as UT has been, UT might have a chance to keep this streak going for a while, now that UT is starting to improve.

This year is UK's last chance to beat us for a while. And they got worse, while we got better this year.

If not for the Epic Phailure that was losing to Vanderbilt at home in 2005, we could have had a 28-game active streak over the Dores as well.

There have been a bunch of games during this streak that could have gone either way. It would be fun to look back at all of the really heartbreaking Kentucky losses.

The 4 OT game in 2007 has to be near the top.

The goalline fumble when they were about to go up 14-0 last year was a miracle. I'm honestly not sure if we could have come back from that.

Lived in Lexington until 5th grade and loved UK football. Thanks to God's grace, I saw the light, left KY and graduated from UT the year before this streak started. Too bad I had to endure a 50% winning percentage while a student on campus. Still remember rotten trip to Lex. in 82 when I discovered that Cats fans were the worst in the nation.

Our streak is the longest current consecutive streak.

We can't lose to Kentucky...because Florida's streak over them is one less than ours. Not only would we be breaking the streak, but we'd be giving the honor to the Gators.

Edit: Ok, theirs is two less than ours. The point stands.

I was at the game in 1984 when UT last lost. Tony Robinson tried to stop the clock by throwing it out of bounds. I guess you couldn't spike the ball back then.

That's a long time to not lose to a team.

And I think they still hold a streak over Vandy, too, so they would absolutely, no doubt, pass our streak.

Florida is right behind with 25 straight over Kentucky if I remember correctly

Yeah, I was at that game too. I believe we were inside their 20 yard line when the game ended.

That seems to be correct. IIRC we were diving towards the south endzone.

Amazing that I can remember something from 27 years ago, but can't recall anything I promised to my wife regarding the "honey do" list!
