Even considering Dobbs' natural limitations that's still only half the problem. The OL is absolutely woeful. I heard one commentator yesterday (always taken with grain of salt) say he was watching film of the offense and thought they were running screens when they were actually trying to block. How miserable and laughable is that? If you can't even get 2 seconds before 2-3 DL are on you there isn't going to be a lot of success in passing game, even if you are Aaron Rodgers. And the third half of it :crazy: is the play calling is about as predictable and abysmal as it could get. It is like the second coming of Randy Sanders. All while Louisville takes a flyer on a moral degenerate and it turns into a silk purse. I bet there isn't one person in the city that is saying, "Wait, what about that motorcycle thing?" This, unfortunately, is not going to go away. We hired a coach who can recruit with anyone, but then take the recruits and turns them average. And now we are signing a bunch of 3 stars. Does anyone think that after we go through this 4-5 game beatdown, recruits that are on the fence are going to be convinced to come to Knox? Recruits today want to go to a program where they can have fun playing, beat the crap out of most teams and win close ones against the best, and improve as players to have a shot at getting into the league. None of that is happening here.

Comparing Randy Sanders to this offense is an insult to Sanders. He looks like Bill Walsh compared to these guys.

AS didn't have all summer to gameplan for Miami.

Also I fully believe that if Cam Sutton doesn't muff that punt against AS that game goes somewhat differently.

App State is not a great football team. UT should be an elite team. We should have throttled them 45-0. Miami did what we should have done.

OL-agree, our biggest issue
QB-disagree, kind of hard to play good at QB when the OL play is so bad.
Penalties-were bad
Play calling-could be better, however bad OL play is issue.
Desire to play-agree to a point, I'm beginning to wonder if changing the strength and conditioning coach in offseason could've been a bad move.
Hopes for the future- disagree, still believe vols are on the right track, something must change with OL recruiting/development though.

someone mentioned it yesterday, but it seems like there's some sort of internal problem going on with this team - lack of leadership... They had three games to fix it, but now we're going in conference play and that ain't good.

Well now there's Mahoney coaching position discipline and techniques. Then there's Debord coaching a offensive scheme. Either Mahoney isn't effective in coaching position discipline or Debord isn't using them correctly in his offense getting the most out of their execution. There is a disconnect somewhere here between Mahoney, Debord, and Jones. My biggest concern is with all the practice time they've had and played three live games the o line still looks day one against one of the best defenses next Saturday.

Play calling and QB not allowed to audible! Dobbs is an elite runner and that's it. Use the damn TE to help block on run plays if they stack the box have genius Dobbs audible to a freakin pass to TE OL fire off the damn ball, this is basic football these kids are regressing the longer they're in this system

Sadly, I believe FL will win because of the OL play. Something has to change with the OL development.

Umm...Florida struggled with UMass, too. Boston College beat them worse than Florida did and then got shellacked by VT the following week.

Who cares anymore about Appy st? Our game with them is over we beat them they DO NOT DEFINE our team so get over it and move on! Were 3-0 with 9 straight wins so who gives a rats Azz about them anymore!!

You've got a bad memory then.

Art Evans and Coleman were worst CBs at UT in my memory. Coleman was pretty decent playing nickel as a SR, but absolutely terrible at corner.

Moseley isn't good, but not the worst.
