Mosley or North

Both played QB in high school. Id like to see a package to bring them in at QB. Run the Auburn offence, a true read option and see if we can mix it up.

With the young guys on the line trying to confuse the defense might be our best chance. Right now they are just pinning their ears back and coming. We might be able to slow them down a step with the confusion.

We've got nothing to lose this season. Go for broke it's a bowl or bust why not pull out all the stops.

I watched North play his high school ball at Mallard Creek. To my knowledge, I can never recall him taking a snap at QB.

Disagree to some extent. Kentucky hasn't played a great schedule but they clearly pass the eyeball test. I think they have more dynamic athletes on both sides of the ball when I watch both teams play. I think they actually played Florida better than we did while posting 30 points and 450+yds in Gainesville. They also just beat SCar by continuing to come at them after falling behind by 14 points a couple different times late in the 2nd half.

They won 2 games last, they've already won 4 this year, are building great confidence and momentum with each win, are a virtual lock to get to a bowl, and will be very, very difficult for us to beat next month. I think both Kentucky and Arkansas, who's combined win total equaled our pathetic 5 wins last year, are both further along in their rebuild than we are.

Absolutely agree with everything.

And UK/Arkansas were dumpster fires in regards to rosters.

Ark QB Brandon Allen (JR, 3* recruit) was pretty bad last year. 13TD/10INT. Sub 50% comp. This year he's 10/1 and just under 60%. Why? He improved. Coaching.

Arkansas' run game has improved dramatically. Their OL is good but I think that's mostly due to Pittman. He's one of the best in the business. Losing him hurt.

Basically, I think it's high time for most people on here to let go of the notion that Tennessee is some huge rebuild. Beilema did it at Arkansas in a shorter time without the benefit of the #5 class in the nation. They barely scratched the 20s every year for the last 4. 42/21/28/23/29 over the last 5 years. Where were Beilema's laundry list of excuses. "Don't have much talent" and then mask their inability to coach up the upperclassmen on the roster by playing a bunch of freshmen.

UT had what should be a starting 5 of upperclassmen and RS Freshman. They're not playing because they're not good? Arkansas wasn't good last year and they weren't good in 2012. They improved because of coaching. Not because suddenly their entire OL found their b@lls under the sink. Because Pittman >>>> Mahoney.

I would certainly hope our Oline could handle 3 rushers...

They should be able to. That just shows how bad Kerby is at LT. Not a slight to him. Dallas Thomas was a stud at OG, moved to LT, was awful then moved back to OG in 2009 and was drafted and is in the 2-deep for the Dolphins... as an OG.

OGs make for bad times if they try to get plugged in at LT.

Nick Marshall was not considered an "actual quarterback" until he was brought in by Gus Malzahn to run their offense. At Georgia, he was a cornerback until being dismissed for violation of team rules. Marshall seems to have worked out pretty well for Auburn. But we are Tennessee. We're not allowed to think outside of the box, and our rebuilding effort has to be a ten year "process" even as other SEC schools like UK, Mississippi, Auburn, ect. are turning things around much more quickly.

17 FREAKING games!!! I know you have to be exaggerating about "10" years, right? Wouldn't it have been nice for Butch to come in with Auburn's talent in place? Mississippi? How many years has their "process" been? Kentucky? Exactly who have they beat? We'd be 4-1 with that schedule too.

With the worst line in arguably school history it doesnt matter what we run or who runs it. The offense cannot be successful with this line, thats what butch means by "we have who have". The best quarterback in the country couldnt win with this line. As fulmer used to say.. if your line cant stand up you might as well go home. Maybe next year but if ut wins 5 games with this line ill be shocked. GBO. "2016"

We should run the offense that we have practiced for two years with a few tweaks to the running game and better play calling.

Neither. Evan Berry would be a better choice imo now that they're looking at him as a RB this week. He played qb in Highschool

it wont help if we cant quit jumping before the ball is snapped...but i see what you are saying now.

Why don't we just let it play out Kreskin?

Auburn wasn't rebuilt. Hugh Freeze is in his third year.

And those guys at least had bodies. Butch took 35 guys this February for a reason. What is so wrong with letting the season play out before making comments like you made?

Auburn wasn't as loaded as everyone suggests last year. Their recruiting classes on average were only slightly better than ours. And they were picked either dead last or near the bottom of the SEC West in nearly every preseason publication last year. The bottom line is that they exceeded expectations. That's what great coaches do. They get their team to exceed expectations. So far Butch Jones has failed to do that at Tennessee.

Everybody acts like Auburn was just loaded with talent when Malzahn came in in. The truth is that their recruiting classes were only slightly better than ours, and they were picked to finish last or near the bottom of the SEC West in every preseason publication prior to last year's season. Their starting quarterback was former Georgia cornerback that they converted to QB. No major college recruited Nick Marshall as a QB. Stop pretending that he was this 5* catch. He was just coached up that well! Malzahn did what great coaches do. He found a way to get his team to far exceed everyone's expectations of what they could do. So far, Butch Jones has failed miserably at that task. I am still hopeful he can get it turned around, but things are going to have to change.

Nick Marshall former UGA DB was a top JUCO QB at Garden City and recruited by virtually everyone
that was recruiting dual threat QB's.

They aren't a virtual lock to make a bowl. There's a very good chance they lose the rest of their games. Look at their schedule.
