And he's the quarterback coach Florida did hire away from his one-year stint with the Detroit Lions in an attempt to woo Tim Tebow into staying another year.

Tebow was staying another year regardless of who his QB coach was going to be.

And LOL at the "Mullett" typo. Ha ha ha. Fitting for an Arkansas QB, but incorrect.

I thought the same until I talked with some Florida insiders....Timmy is/was pretty tight with Mullen, and he said something at media day that made me wonder...I'll post it in a later S. Fla blog

I tired of the urban meyer and tebow lovefest. Win the title, then ride off into the sunset tebow.

In all seriousness Griff, why does everything coming from the Knoxville media have a negative tone?

Also, I was told that the following scenario was talked about on the radio. Knoxville sportswriter runs into Monte before he gets to Knoxville and Monte promises him an interview. When Monte arrives in Knoxville, he is informed that he will give no such interview.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? If you get my drift. Of course, you are probably the wrong person to ask that question.

I'm not sure I understand why some folks seem to think that Peyton Manning:
(a) might be the future HFCAUTK,
(b) would be the future HFCAUTK,
(c) would want to be the future HFCAUTK,
(d) would accpet the job if offered, and perhaps most importantly,
(e) would necessarily be good at the job.

It's quite simple actually.

(a) because he's Peyton Manning,
(b) because he's Peyton Manning,
(c) because he's Peyton Manning,
(d) because he's Peyton Manning, and perhaps most importantly
(e) because Rod Wilks guaranteed it.

I can see it now:

KNS: Hey aren't you Monte Kiffin?
CMK: Yes I am.
KNS: When you get to Knoxville we should get together and I'll interview you.
CMK: Sure pal, sounds great.
CMK (to his son): Do you know that guy?
KNS (calling boss): I was just promised an exclusive with Monte Kiffin!
KNS boss: That's great. Now can I get back to my LSU game please? *hangs up*

KNS headline after Monte gets to Knoxville and doesn't remember meeting KNS guy:

"Kiffins won't meet with the local media and more interested in national interviews. Why do they hate Knoxville already? CPF would never do this!"

Folks -- it is worth it to cut and paste that link to the Meyer blog -- I promise it is hilarious if you know the guy

As for those wondering about Kiffins and interviews, I have not requested them personally -- but usually when someone says they are gonna do an interview -- coach or media person -- it's considered kinda bad if they don't follow thru
in this case, UT asked them not to do any interviews until it was cleared through them.

Tebow will probably leave for the NFL---their backup QB brantley is not very good, and when harvin leaves also, UF will be way down next year. UT pulls the upset in G'ville--mark it down!

I don't understand why people from the media think things are owed to them. I hope the new administration doesn't give any interviews to any media around Knoxville. Atleast this time there will be a valid excuse for why their is no substance to the articles.

sounds to me like the problem with the interview situation should be addressed with the University and not the Kiffins.

Seems like the local media tried to play the Foolmer firing into a pity party. Some of them acturally sided with that outlaw lover. I like how the Kiffin's are tight lipped and we learn about things when they are completed.
