You can say that again...But atleast I was comforted by living in Columbia...Here, we had players stealing lap-tops from USC :wacko:

Hopefully UGA is headed down hill. We compete for a lot of recruits with them and they already have 2 players in the top 10 for the 08 class. They have a lot of talent, but hopefully it won't pan out.

It is ironic that this shows up on our board, but part of it is due to the reputation of St. Richt. I remember my Georgia bretheren shaking their heads at me when UT was going through similar hardships, and reminding me of what a fine man St. Richt was. All the while they were assuring me that this kind of thing would never happen on his watch. If nothing else, we get to watch another fan base squirm a little. Especially when they thought they were immune.

In a way it is sad that a college student cannot walk down the street with a beer without being arrested. Overzealous campus policemen bother me a bit (though I have no disdain for law enforcement in general), but rules are rules even if they are stupid. Twenty years ago these same campus patrolmen would have walked these guys straight to their dorms or right over to the coaches house. Right or wrong I truly miss those days.

The topic is worth mentioning on this board for one simple reason. We know by experience that these off the field issues can dramatically affect the direction of a program.

Yeah, I can't believe kids are walking through downtown Athens with (gasp!) BEER! Thank God the Athens-Clarke Co. Police are around to protect us from this menace.

I guess President Adams' crackdown on booze might be backfiring... that would be sweet. See below:

They have an oen container law in Athens thatmakes it ilegal to carry an open container of alcohol on the street in downtown Athens. Also Chandler was charged with underage drinking, which is a big problem at UGA not only for athletes but students in general.

Richt always has the luck of having a creampuff (OK State) for their first game. The story here in Athens is he will suspend them for 10% of their games which will probably mean 1 1/2 games which is the OK St game and first half of the USC game. Chandler may hurt a little because he is the starting TE, but Barnes will be no big deal being the 3rd string QB who has not played anyway.:bad:
