Yes, the 7-6 that you folks always want to build into some other-worldy stature. It is LAUGHABLE. If you want to be a realist, stop making a barely-above-.500 coach at the college level (and sub-.500 in the pros) into some god-like icon.

This thread is a joke. Where in the heck is FAILDOZER when you need him? He would have topped a 100 posts in this thread alone.

This maybe the worst thread I've seen on Volnation. Only Ksu's what kind of computer thread, or Lawgator takes his ball & goes home might top it.

I don't care if you're the President of UT. You screamed for Hamilton to fire Fulmer....he took his time but he did. You screamed for a young new coach to bring us back to the promise land......he did. Now after all that you're screaming at Hamilton for doing what you asked him to do. Brilliant! We need massive stability after your screaming got us where we are. He found Dooley. Guy's been handed an awful situation and you're crushing him after his first orange and white game.

You keep bringing up all the bad hires Hamilton has made besides Pearl. WTF else is there? Summit, our swim coach, lacrosse? You need a valium and a Bud Light worse than anyone I've seen on here.

Go Vols man. We're all in this together. It's been a rough ride but we've been here before. We are down right now....we've been misled by a coach who got too comfortable.......we've been kicked in the sack by a coach who is a snake. The great thing is you and I both know we'll be back. No, I can't promise Dooley will be the one....but we are TENNESSEE and we will be back!

Some of these fans act like he came here to a program with nothing and lead them to the promise land.

I really don't see this. There are some on here that are overly optimistic about Dooley, but most seem to be very cautious and patient when it comes to Dooley.

Ok, that is not the point. It is perfectly fine to not have confidence in him, but that is completely different than the OP already determining that he is a failure.

In no way, not even the slightest, can you evaluate his recruiting ability at the University of Tennessee by what he has done so far in this 2011 class.

If anything you can determine he should have success here by what he did at the end of the 2010 class much better than you can deteremine he won't by what he has done so far this year.

Once again, stupidest thread ever, OP has no basis at all for his claims.

I will see all of you when we land Arnett, Hayes, Clear, AJ Johnson, Kerbyson, Robinson, Worley, Ect, next Feb.:rock:

Then we can see what MR. Beef is having for dinner then!:eek:lol:

Nothing I or Justin have said have built Kiffin into anywhere close to being god-like. We have both iterated taking him for what he was.

That's not the outright failure some are trying to make him out to be due to whatever denial process they're going through. He took a team with, at most, 2-3 draft picks and put 6 into the NFL. Every Offensive statistical category improved dramatically. Despite numerous injuries among the LB corps and other defensive stars... the Defense turned in a standard (for UT) performance with bright spots being their play against Florida and Alabama.

However, there are discrepancies along those. While winning 7 games... we lost every single game against a ranked opponent (using season-end rankings) and got embarrassed on national TV against VT.

The best part? Kiffin didn't know about Pete Carroll and had most of his recruiting class (that might have defected had they not... or at least been easier pickings by other schools) be Early Enrollees.

I'm taking things with Kiffin at face value. At best he left the cabinets with some good talent. At worst he left us completely dead in the water with a slightly tarnished name. We'll see how DD does over the years to right those issues.

I didn't say he was better, I said he has the potential to be better. We won't know until he fields his first defense at UT.

Monte didn't exactly kill it at UT. Chavis hade better defenses than we had last season for the most part (and I was 100% in favor of the decision to let Fulmer and his staff go, just so that is clear).

First I would have had enough smarts to have a MUCH higher buyout on Kiff.
Second, I would have liked to have seen MH take a deep breath make a public statement that we were going to go about our hiring in a proffessional manner just as we did in the last hire. Many coaches say no at the first attempt to hire them.

It's not hype, it's a fact. I'm over Kiffin, been over him since he left. However, you can't discount Kiffin and crew because they left Tennessee in a classless fashion. That staff kicked ass.

Smith is a good DL coach, Thompson and Chaney are still here. Wilcox has a lot of potential to be a great DC (but no one is on Monte's level so that comparison can't really be made. Dick LeBeau wasn't coming and he's the next best on the list)

They kicked it before the season and in the newspapers. Once the season started, they routinely got theirs kicked.

smg, yes I don't have many comments & yes didn't join till here lately ,but I have been visiting for pver a year or so. Used to just read the articles, than started reading the other stuff . I finally started adding a few ideas on some things & giving my take on a few others & as I stated before how do you get a volnation guru under your name giving a dumb a** thread like this? Thanks for welcomeing me to y'all site ! GBO &buck fama too!!!!
