More praise for Berry (ESPN)

EB will set the gold standard for safties if he stays healthy and keeps working. He has the talent, desire, and intelligence to handle anything thrown at him by the best in the NFL. Add in leadership and great character. I still hear the chants of his name in Neyland...

As far as a Witten goes I have to say he is the best all around TE. Best catching TE definitely has to go to Gates but thats not all a TE does...

Tom Brady is every bit as good and has 2 more rings.

I question whether you actually support the vols. Brady is not as good as manning skill or talentwise. He's had incredible teams around him and the greatest coach. That being said, he's the only qb in the league even on peyton's level.

He is every bit as good. Also Peyton has had way better teams around him. You're correct on the coach argument though, but it's not like Dungy is a slouch.

I'm a UT homer but it's close. However, if Brady was on the Colts would he have 3 rings? On the other hand if Peyton was on the Pats would he have more than 1? Brady has the best coach in the league and the Pats have had some terrific defenses over the years. Bledsoe was doing just fine until he got hurt. Frank Wycheck played against both and he consistently says Manning is better at the QB position than Brady and is more important to his team than anyone in the league.

Yeah as a whole Brady had better defenses, but outside of 07 Peyton has had more on offense which isn't really debatable.

Both had good O lines but Edge or Harrison didn't do squat after they left. Peyton makes players appear above average when on another team they would be unknowns. Exhibit A & B: Jacob Tammy & Austin Collie. I'll give you that Brady does very well without great talent in the skill positions around him offensively as well.

Edge and Harrison both left Indy after they both little to nothing left in the tank so we'll never know about them imo. The jury is still out of Tamme and Collie, but it's possible that neither of them will leave Indy until they're done either.

Neither Brady or Manning have a ton of truly elite talent around them. The difference is people look at it as Manning's players make him and Brady makes his players (and I will never understand that). Having said that, Brady has had MUCH better defenses and the best coach the NFL has seen in a lil bit. So for me the better team nod goes to Brady.

no offense to eric but safety has to be the weakest position in football when it comes to star power and depth...not much of a ladder to climb in other words. with that being said, he will be great!

Troy polamalu and ed reed disagree

I don't think they look at it like that at all. I think thru and thru Brady got put in a situation with a dynamic coach. When it comes down to it, if the rings were reversed Manning would be #1 on that list and they wouldn't have so many Brady draft things on EPSN right now.
