Take it or not...just my 2 cents.

I am just blown away by how many of you who have defended CBJ to the death have now turned on him. You are finally seeing what many of us --what did you call us??? Trolls, NegaVols, Fair Weather Fans, etc -- have been trying to tell you.

Anyway, welcome to reality...it's not pretty.

I say we give CBJ a chance to make some drastic changes. I don't think anyone really wants a new head coach now, but his "best Staff in America" has to go.

Butch has done a great job filling the "cupboards" and hopefully can get a couple more GREAT classes in here before he "coaches" himself out of a job.

He gets next year barring a total collapse, as in missing a bowl game.

I'm expecting 7-5. And another offseason national title.

It's impressive how many on VN value their own status. It's almost like the doubters want to be proven correct on their doubts more than hoping things will turn around for this historic and proud program. And because they (the doubters) were doubted by others, now it is vindication time. Congratulations?

I especially like the posters who request an apology from other fans because they ended up being right. They seem to see themselves as holding some kind of important position in the fanbase for some strange reason.

I guess it's just me, but I will never understand why someone would seems to take joy in a loss just to say he/she was right. Not a true fan IMO

Have to agree with your post, although your hatred of Butch was from the beginning, less about your amazing ability to analyze a coaching hire and more to due with the fact that you are a negavol jerk! :neener:

Thanks McDad. But the Vols losing is not "vindication". With a VERY few exceptions, everyone on this board wants our Vols to win and win now. The problem is that MANY posters on here refuse to look at reality and bash and flame anyone who dares question the almighty coaches or AD...or anything about the program. These same posters are many of the ones now screaming the loudest about Butch not being able to coach at this level.

I just find it funny because this is exactly how things went with Dooley...people defended him to the death, then finally saw reality and turned on him in an instant.

Changing coordinators now will be another setback. Learning new schemes or plays means we have to start from near scratch again. We need upperclassman at the majority of positions, and we need continuity in the scheme. We also need more development on the OL.

He and his staff need another year together, with the more talented guys as upperclassman, like it or not.

It is true I have never liked the Butch Jones hire, but I have NEVER called for him to be fired...his staff--that's another issue. I have also praised CBJ's recruiting.

I never enjoy losing--that is what is behind many of my posts--I don't see our current staff getting us back to prominence.

For those of you bashing me or calling me a know it all, crow tastes bad doesn't it.

Brother Vol, i believe you want to win. I believe we all want that. But, if you think your post isn't vindication in the poor coaching you saw before the rest of us, you need to read it again.

I am trying to be pragmatic in this whole ordeal. Our coaches are making mistakes; our players are making mistakes. But, CBJ is very likely our head coach next season so I cannot give up on him righting the ship. Because that would mean I've given up on this season and the next.

No being nationally and regionally irrelevant leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Going into every game with a doubt of losing in the front of my mind tastes bad. Having a smug know it all come in and bask in his "rightness" is just embarrassing for you.

I haven't given up on him, but he did blow some calls Saturday.

The entire team needs to learn how to win. I think once they do get over the hump, there will be no looking back. :rock:

Thanks Nostradamus. Can you tell me where the stock market will be this time next year?

The book is still out on Butch. It ain't looking pretty at the moment, but I think it is 50-50 that he still gets it done here.
