My hope is the NCAA limits the damage to us to like 5 schollies a year for like 2 years to go with probation. With the two big recruiting classes Dooley has pulled in, we would not feel it as much since you max out at 85 anyway.

How could they limit scholarships when we have NO major infractions committed? There was no inticement or money paid to any recruit. We had illegal contact and that was a secondary violation only.

With all the efing rules the NCAA has, you have to walk on water not to break one. In trying to make everything fair, they're just creating more chaos for everyone.

Nope, sorry.. that's a violation..

According to NCAA bylaws:

... "No coach, assistant coach, GA or anyone affiliated with the University may walk on water in the presence of a recruit or recruits." This could possibly infer 'God like' status on said staff member and unduly influence recruit.

Didn't read the whole thread, so forgive me if it's been posted, but when is the NCAA supposed to rule on this stuff? I thought it was supposed to come down back in December or something.

P.S. I hope the NCAA destroys Kiffin.

Which is a smaller list than Dan Brooks.

At Miami alone, he coached eight all Americans, including NFL first-rounders Cortez Kennedy, Russell Maryland and Warren Sapp.

At USC, he coached Mike Patterson, Sed Ellis, Kenechi Udeze, Omar Nazel, Frostee Rucker and Shaun Cody ...just to name some of the players he's put in the league, a number of whom went in the first round.

I was just thinking. If this bomb had dropped two days earlier than it did, this place would have been in TOTAL meltdown mode. We would still be debating the fallout. Can you imagine if this had hit the day BEFORE signing day instead of the day after?

This crap piling up is getting ridiculous. I'm not sure anything merits major sanctions at the moment, but it's going to be tough to overcome if they find more issues and do punish us severely. We haven't been nationally relevant in about a decade, and at some point it's going to be hard to stop convincing recruits we're going to bounce back easily. We don't have a good recruiting base to fall back on. I'm not trying to be the sky is falling guy because I don't think it's that bad yet. But if we do get severe penalties like that, we're going to need a Saban type hire to turn things around anytime soon, IMO.

Calm down.

Until there's talks of guys getting paid for play or extensive academic cheating, there's not much to worry about.

He's a total sleeze, but a damn good defensive line coach.
