Opiate is a effin rocking good album. The last two albums have been lacking IMO. System of a Down's first album is pretty tight as well.

I do like Tool a little bit. If Norma Jean, Haste the Day, Catherine, and bands like that count in your books...then I certainly have that covered

They count in my book. I was rocking out to korn's first album earlier today and the busted out Deftones Adrenaline.

Not sure what was mentioned on the other threads, but:

Unearth is the best metal band I've ever heard (not to be confused with the wretched Underotah)

Darkest Hour
Fear Before the March of Flames
Every Time I Die (weird mix of metal and ... other stuff)
Norma Jean
etc etc etc

Never heard any of Unearth. I'll check them out. I do like Underoath. Norma Jean is one of my favorite bands.

Unearth is the best mesh of riffage and breakdowns, mixed with screaming that doesn't turn you off after 3 songs.

Oh, Sleeper just released a great album. They remind me a bit of norma jean but are still pretty origional.
An incredible metal blade records band that just got signed is Knoxville's own Whitechapel. I've seen them since they first started and they are great if you like death metal and grindcore.

Now that's some heavy stuff. I feel like I should take a shower before going back to seeing kids!
