More Gruden press.

I just don't think Gruden will leave a $4M job with no pressure. He seems to like the press. I also worry about pro coaches going college. A friend and I were discussing good college folks and Dan Mullen and Charlie Strong came up. Strong has been mentioned repeatedly esp. for Arkansas but why is Mullen not getting any looks? I would love to see him on Rocky Top.
Am I missing the posts due to the Fire Dooley and Gruden love fest onslaught?

I'm not for hiring a guy who hasn't coached a down of football in 4 years. . .

Arkansas will go hard after C. Strong, especially since Charlie has ties to the state. Plus, with boosters like Jerry Jones and the Walton family, they will be throwing out big time cash to get who they want.

Who knows, Gruden very well could be the second coming of Robert 'General' Neyland and could be just what Tennessee needs. However, the point of this article is to temper the enthusiasm a bit for some Volunteer fans who think that hiring an NFL coach is the magic elixir.

This kinda has nothing to do with anything, but this kinda pissed me off. Gen. Neyland was an honest-to-God general. Putting the quotes around this implies it was just a nickname.

Eff bleacher report!

Either one works. Since people have called him 'General'

We've all already read this though. We're perfectly capable of googling "dooley fired 2012" or "gruden to tn". This blog is one of the top results, and has been for days

I don't care to look at kim kardasian. Is there a black man in America that hasn't hit that?

It's a title, not a nickname. You don't put quotes around 'miss' or 'doctor' even though you call people by their titles... if his nickname was 'slugger' or something, then it'd be in quotes. I'm no Neyland biographer, but I'm sure he worked pretty hard to attain his title (unlike 'bear' bryant)....

Unless they're a medical doctor, you don't call them doctor either in the media.

When it becomes convention to call someone by their rank, it becomes an important moniker. You can put it in quotes. Get over it. It's not a lack of respect
