I read these on a Bama Board.

Obviously, some of the people over there don't know much about football. Here are 2 funny posts I read.

1."The thing that gets me is that it has taken the most chaotic 10 years in Bama football history and the ten best in UThug history for the Viles to have any consistent success in the series. Now that things seem to be on an upswing in T-Town it will be very interesting to see if Phil will be able to avoid the fate that all of his predeccesors have shared: losing to the Crimson Tide on a very regular basis."

Huh??? Our Predecessors have lost to the Tide on a very regular basis?

Bama is 43-37-7 overall

Yes, Alabama did jump out ahead of us with a 7-1-1 record from 1901 to 1912. But since 1913, the series is "pretty" evenly matched at 36-36-6. Yeah, I'd say that was even. Neither team has won even 50% of the games when you include the 7 ties. :air_kiss:

Here is another blowhard

2. " Don't you mean our worst 10 years which was helped along by a certain coach at UT? The funny thing about this guy is that Bama fans have a very legitimate reason for hating UT and Phil, but this guys real reason was that we beat them every freakin year head to head with no disadvantages between the two teams. Yeah UT has had some success against us, but its success that they had to buy pretty sad if you ask me."

Since when did Alabama cheating before Fulmer was born ever his fault? "It's success that they had to buy pretty sad if you ask me?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! :mf_surrender:

What did Fulmer have to do with Bama forfeiting a game to us in 1993?

"We beat them every freakin year with no disadvantages?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :clapping:

Not to mention Tennessee having the best SEC record and the 2nd best record in the entire NCAA for the last 80 years.

Who cares what they're saying? Bama still thinks Bear Bryant is still alive and kicking and working down at the MacDonalds on the corner!

I'm thinking that if all Bama fans stressed about the Vols and declared them God's team that we could never defeat and we should all bail and become Vol fans, the world would be a perfect place, huh?

The word "most" is disturbing. I know a lot of Vol fans to be some of the most redneck, ridiculous people I have ever met - however, I wouldn't say "most" Vol fans are that way.

Do those Bama fans know that when they call Phil, Phat it's actually giving him a compliment?

Jason, actually, the series was at 22-23-and some ties-when the 70s rolled around. Vols lost every game from 70 to 1981 (12 games), won 4 in a row (82-85), and then lost 8 of 9. We have won 9 of 10 and we still trail them by 6 games. SO yes, they did win a bunch from the 1970s until the mid 90s.

We didn't lose in 1970

Then they won 11 in a row

We won 4 in a row

They won 7 in a row

Then we tied again in 1993

They won in 1994

Then we won 9 out of the last 10

But my point is that we are 36-36-6 since 1913

They were 7-1-1 against us from 1901 until 1912

And yes, I remember the 70's, 80's and 90's

They've won 1 out of the last 7
7 out of the last 17
13 out of the last 27
20 out of the last 37
25 out of the last 47
26 out of the last 57
31 out of the last 67
35 out of the last 77
and 43 out of the last 87, including the 7 ties.

Ahhhh! Now I see what you are saying! Youre exactly right.

One thing is funny, when both team win, they come in streaks. Hardly ever do you see them exchanging wins every year.

How do you figure 1 out of the last 7? They've won 1 out of the last 3 or 1 out of the last 10.

Well, we've only played 87 times, so I did the last 7
then the last 10 before that
then the last 10 before that, etc., etc., to make it easier on my brain.

At first I did it like this:

Alabama won 8 out of the 1st 10
4 out of the next 10
5 out of the next 10
1 out of the next 10
5 out of the next 10
7 out of the next 10
6 out of the next 10
6 out of the next 10
and 1 out of the last 7

But anyways, this is what I looked at:

Bama vs UT

And based on the current trend, you will probably win Saturday.

I do not think so, but lets just say things change and the more they change the more they stay the same.

Tennessee has and excelent program and history makes one undeniable fact... neither Tennesee or Alabama "own" the other (history as a whole)

Your guys need this game to salvage your season, we need this game to finally get a season. We both want it. We both need it, and we will get it done right there on the field!

Both teams have some idiot fans - seems like everytime I go see my beloved Tide play I sit next to the same guy. Blue jean shorts, old Bama tshirt, brand new Bama hat, gold chains, bad teeth, and telling me how "we got enough tradition to win this game" (that actually happened) There is no doubt that this same guy has on UT orange in Knoxville - you have seen him, you know him, we all are eembarrassed by him. Don't listen to him when he finds a keyboard.

I usually have a feel for this game - not this year.

It never ceases to amaze me that when you post some of the lunacy from a majority of Bama folk, the few thats on VN will try to make UA like UT.

UT is no where NEAR what bama folks are. NO WHERE EVEN ON THE SAME PLANET! While we dealt with our losing streak to Bama by finding ways to beat them, Bama folks is coming up with conspiracy theories, lawsuits and imaginary ficticious rumors to deal with Phil Fulmer owning their collective butts.

How appropriate you chimed in volbrian!
volbrian is the perfect example of "the guy" I was talking about in my post. No class, no sense of reality concerning his team, doesn't understand "the guy" because he IS "the guy". Talk about delusional!!! I hope the rest of you decent Vols fans don't have seats next to him at Neyland.

volbrian - I want you to think about FatSandwich every time you throw your hat down on Saturday because I will be laughing.

FS, its just that alternate reality you were talking bout. VB just likes to poke and prod a bit. I can promise you some of the craziest people on the planet live in the hills of Tennessee, and in the plains of Alabama, on the coast of GA, in the swamps of Fla etc. etc.

Most of the fans are reasonably passionate, but to pretend there aren't a proportional amount of nuts everywhere is just proves a lack of exposure.

I totally agree(with all you said, and all I said) I'm not sure if you have seen this but Ms. Rice is bringing some British diplomate to the game on Saturday. That will go real well or really bad. I can just see "the guy" spilling his JD & pepsi on the limey or burning him in the men's room line with his Marlboro Red. "The Guy" could be wearing either color is my point.

FS, I know exactly who "the guy" is. He's the one who sits behind me and has a knack for yelling which play should be run, right AFTER the play is over. He also has a knack for spilling things and laughing at his own jokes.

#22
#22
He's also the guy that says there was holding on every play where his team is on defense and any holding call against his team is BS.

Thats him! "The guy" was right next to me at the Bama/UF game telling me we didn't go for the deep ball enough!!! He also loved showing me his betting sheet all game. Telling me about turns, parlees, buying the hook etc. What a nightmare The Guy is......

...after every call that goes against his team, he practices the perfected art of booing irrationally.

...he immediately starts griping about playcalling whenever any running play gets stuffed.

...he typically is sitting next to a very embarassed looking wife/girlfriend.
