If Va. Tech -- a team that lost to James Madison --is in a BCS bowl then I will start the formal petition to take the auto BCS bid away from the ACC. Cosigners?

I'll cosign that, and also sign off on one to take the Big East's auto bid away, too.

Nobody pays attention to it, but Virginia Tech blows one or two games every year that they have no business losing. I find it kind of funny. Frank Beamer every year fails to prepare his team against an overmatched opponent, loses, and gets a free pass. Les Miles mismanages the clock in close games, wins anyway, but he's an idiot.

UNC would be poetic, after the crap I've taken from some of their alums (assuming we win).

the sec has 8 bowls with only AU projected to go to a bcs one which equals nine, so if Ga wins out, Tenn wins out, you have 10 teams bowl eligible which means if a conference like the pac 10 doesnt have a team to fill that bowl, the bowl can pick up another bowl eligible team

also if somehow ole miss wins out, that would make 11 out of 12 of the SEC teams bowl eligible

I think LSU (11-1) and Auburn will both make BCS bowls. Auburn as the automatic winner of SEC. LSU as Top 5 BCS Ranked Team that auto qualifies for at large. Am I missing something ?

Imagine living about 45 minutes away from Blacksburg and dating a Tech student.

Every single damn year I hear that they'll be winning the national championship, and every single damn year they lose two to three games. If they're cool with winning a crappy conference every year, whatever. It's just annoying hearing how they're the best team in the country before every season.

How is it that LSU would be going to the Sugar Bowl if AU wins out and goes to the NC game? I thought that the SEC#1 would automatically go there unless that team goes to the NC game in which case it would be the #2 team... USCjr. Why does it seem that the pundits don't even talk about them in that regard? Does the SECCG count or not?

/confused in Florida. I'll hang up and listen

It might be a crappy conference, but it the conference they are in. If they win it.. good for them. It gives them a chance at going to a good bowl. I don't see why you blast them for being happy if they win their conference...Would it be better if they were bummed out after the win and saying "damn.. I wish we were in the SEC or PAC 10"?

If you were around Tech fans all the time you might understand. They shove ACC championships down people's throats like they're the best team in the world, when in reality the ACC is an entirely garbage conference with one or two good teams each year.

EDIT: My whole problem is that a team like Tech can dominate a terrible conference and go to a BCS game when there are probably at least 15 teams better and more deserving than they are.
