Latest quote from Austin Rogers in reference to the possibility of TT leaving...

"We don't know who is going to be here. We don't know if we are going to like him. Some people are talking about transferring or doing other things. It's our future that is in coaches hands. We wish the best for him but it's tough."

This isn't good. Thoughts?

If they're more loyal to a towel waving clown than they are to the "T" on the helmet, I would welcome their departures.

If promoting Trooper is our only hope in keeping Austin Rogers (a back-up slot rcvr at best) to stay at UT than we don't need them anyway.....I am sorry but, a position coach shouldn't dictate whether or not a athlete stays at the University....

What's Austin Rogers going to do? Transfer to Baylor? He wouldn't be able to transfer to a much better program. Nobody's going to transfer.

well Rogers didn't necessarily say he was going to transfer...just said other people were thinking about it.

well if his loyalty is only as deep as the man on the sideline, then leave! If you can't take pride in the orange and white you put on everyday then hit the road.

Paige has already spent his redshirt year. Do you think he really wants to sit on the sideline for another year? If the Vols bring in Kippy Brown to replace Trooper, he'd be in much better hands, anyway.

I like Trooper and think he could cut it as OC. However, if he moves on, so be it. And if any WRs are willing to sit out a year and transfer due to his departure, adios. I'd be surprised if more than one of them leaves.

Ahmad admitted that he basically committed to us b/c of his relationship with TT. Many kids waste years transferring b/c of coaching changes or really any other dumb reason. Wouldn't suprise me...but bringing in an NFL receiver coach as our OC should be enough for Ahmad to stay if he's smart.

I've heard that Ahmad Paige might transfer if Trooper leaves.

Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!!!

....and if Austin Rogers tries to transfer he'll probably drop his papers anyway so what's it matter??? :hi:

You are right a lot of these kids do waste years b/c of coaches leaving, it is like they are playing on the next level asking for a trade. Quit crying. Correct me if I am wrong but I dont remember it being like this until recently.

It would not surprise me to know that some of the less speedy starters from this season are spreading propaganda to eliminate the competition from the faster and more athletic underclassmen although I am not accusing anyone in particular of doing this.

I haven't really noticed this crap until the past 5 or so years either. It's going right down to the recruiting level as well, with Pryor dropping us off his list with Cut leaving and adding Michigan just b/c they hired Rich Rodriguez and then consequently dropping West Virginia because they lost RR. C'mon kids.

Believe it or not, alot of those kids are not quite as fanatical about the Vols and that T on the helmet as we fans are. For most kids, that stuff is icing on the cake the coaches make for them.

Who cares about Pryor....He wouldn't have played next year anyway....We are already 3 deep at qb.....Cuttcliffe can't even coach the pro-form style offense....Do you really think he could coach a spread?

You won't see many people on this board complaining if Brandon Warren ever gets to suit up for the Orange. This is one of those things that happens. Personally, I think that if the coach leaves, the players should automatically be eligible for a release with no waiting out a year requirement.

While you do have a point, once recruits get here they should have some respect and loyalty towards there school. They will be an alumnus for the rest of their lives after all. Coaches come and go, the school stays.

I don't mind that Pryor excluded us, especially after the recent decisions he's been making. Just using an example.
