Moore signs 4 year deal

At the end of the 2010 regular season, Denarius Moore was the national leader in Yards Per Catch (> 20 catches).

When's the last time a UT, or SEC, receiver accomplished that?

I seem to recall Moore making some catches that made Bray look pretty good....

OK since you are armed with facts to support your statement...Im all ears??? I think DMo was propping Bray up on several occasions

Sorry...quoted wrong VF...VTUSA and I are on the same page

Dooley says "we'll be impressed by Bray's production".....I think most sane people here believe its a toss up....

Impossible. He was only a 3*. He only got offered because UT wanted Creer.

This is a fact though. If Tennessee had not been recruiting Creer, no one working at Tennessee would have known who the hell Moore was.

It doesn't really speak well of CPF's recruiting strategy towards the end.

You obviously don't understand what I'm getting at...

I'm saying Moore should be thankful Bray was throwing to him the second half of the season rather than Simms.

With Simms at QB during the first 7 games, his production totaled 18 catches for 257 yards and 4 td's.

With Bray at QB the last 6 games, his production totaled 29 catches for 724 yards 5td's.

This equates to an increase of 2.3 more catches, 84 more yards, and .26 more td's per game with Bray at the helm, thus the reason why I said what I said in the OP.

DMo was huge for us last year. Really interested to see how this WR group steps up this year.

This year kind of reminds me of 2007 when Ainge had lost Meachem, Swain, and Smith and just had Rogers, Briscoe, Hancock, and Lucas Taylor returning. Not saying Stocker, Jones, and DMo were anywhere near as good as those three but same type situation in terms of experience.

Plus we have DMo to thank for the awesome smiley :loco:

Moore made great catches for Crompton, Stephens, Simms, and Bray and inflated each of those quarterbacks' respective stats on more than several occassions. He was a real good wide reciever while here. Alot better than what we've had at that position in the last few years.

Congrats to DMo - This is great for him and his future, and it also helps UT by showing that we can still put receivers in the NFL.

GBO !

And he made some flat out ridiculous catches in his career. JMO, IMHO

Moore was a good receiver while he was here.

He and Bray were absolutely insane together in the 2nd half of the season. Lets not pretend that Bray would have had the stats he had, or Moore the stats he had, without each other.

i was at UAB game when dmo jumped over two defenders and grabbed the ball out the air to win the game in OT. happened right in front of me. It was NICE!

Dmo was huge for us last year and I think could turn into a really nice pro wide receiver with his ability to stretch the field and go up in traffic and pull down balls

also bringing up his star rating is meaningless as he was not ur average 3 star - he was very highly recruited out of HS - offer list was very good - ok state, oklahoma, A&M, Arky, Florida, MO, and UT is not exactly a 3 star that no good teams wanted

Worth 2 million dollars per TOS.

He owes Bray something reeeeeeeaaaallly nice because at best he'd be sweating free agent cuts over the next few weeks instead of sitting pretty with a 7 figure contract had it not been for Bray getting him the ball late last year.

Bray did very little for him. Moore was a deep threat for the last three years. Giving a freshman who played against terrible defenses for about half of one season the credit for someone being signed by an NFL team is ridiculous.

Raiders coach Hue Jackson singled out fifth-round WR Denarius Moore for his play in the first week of camp.
"Wow! He's a tremendous young player," Jackson said. "I mean when you look around, every time you look up, there's No. 17 making a play." Jason Campbell compares Moore to Jacoby Ford, wondering how the two explosive receivers fell in the draft. "He's so talented, he's so athletic," said Campbell. "... Some things you just can't coach, he has about him. He's a guy that can add a lot to our offense this year."

I was just about to mention this. As a Raiders fan (I know, I know), I can tell you that Raider Nation is supremely excited about Moore. Not just the fan base, but as you can see, the organization too. All of the reports out of training camp so far are that he is absolutely tearing it up.

And yes, this is my first post. Gotta start somewhere.

Here are a few twitter tidbits from an Oakland guy that covers the Raiders:

Vittorio Tafur
Moore goes up for another nice catch (no, not on Routt) ... Big, big day for rookie

Vittorio Tafur
To recap (think Twitter was down for sec) Moore beat Routt deep, on slant and on curl. Nice catch with hands out on slant

Vittorio Tafur
Moore 3, Routt 0
