No. Your defenses fortunes are going to be dictated by whether or not Crompton can keep from self destructing. Plain and simple. If Crompton can be even "decent" you will not stop our run. If he melts down, you can stack the box and slow it.

One thing is for sure. The double mascots will be surprised by the ferocity of the hits they will take. Sure, any given Saturday in the SEC...BUT, a given is that they will be surprised by the "sting"

Excellent points abound in the article. The matchup between the dean of NFL coaches against the coach just out of high school about three years should be intriguing. Also I watched a little of the Auburn vs Ball State game from last week and Ball State was gashing the Tigers defensive front for huge gains. The chess match between the first year head coaches should be a good one on ESPN.

AU fans talking about the Tampa 2 probably haven't seen much of our D this year. We run the Tampa 2 less than 10% of the time. Monte Kiffin is known for mastering the Tampa 2 but he isn't a one trick pony either. Go rewatch the UT-UF game, we ran the T2 very little.

good point, i haven't watched much vol football. But i sure hope the AU coaches have. i am pretty sure your coached have watched alot of au and tulsa. I believe kiffin said that AU has been the hardest to prepare for, that they started watching tapes this summer of tulsa to get ready for au.

I can guarantee that Monte Kiffin has watched well more than his share of film on Gus' O. I can also guarantee he will have a better game plan that anyone AU has seen to date.
