It is gonna suck when a high school offense and a horrible defense light you guys up.

Reality will sink in with you at some point. I hope you can survive it. The good news is, you'll know exactly how good your high school offense is compared to a bonifide defense.

You do realize that Monte Kiffin is not known for have a shut down defense don't you? He has always had a bend but no break defense......I think you guys are giving way to much credit to him...You guys was number 3 ranked last year! That was pretty impressive, really can't get that much better! State had Anthony Dixon who is a great back, Ball state's HB had over 1700 yards last year rushing and La Tech's RB was good plus throw in Noel Devine...Every team we have played are running teams and guess what.....We won all 4 and played a lot of back ups in the process....We have had 32 players hit the field this year that has never seen the college football field in a game before this season! Y'all are just fooling yourselves!

Dixon averaged 4.1 YPC and Devine averaged 7.5. Ball State lost nearly every player from their potent offense last year so holding Miquale Lewis to a low output is not saying much. If our backs average 5 YPC we win imo.

Forget all the other stuff...this game comes down to CLK and Crompton. Can CLK devise a game plan that can move the ball while limiting Crompton's chances to make game changing mistakes.

Did Griff pay you to include the "3rd- ranked defense" point in that post?

This is definitely what it comes down to. I know it's cliche but the team that makes the fewest mistakes will win this football game. Crompton has to do a good job protecting the rock but its up to CLK to make sure he puts him in the right positions to make plays. We should be able to run the ball which could help make life a bit easier for him. That one key turnover was the whole reason we lost to Auburn last year. It's not gonna happen in our house this time around...

Just throwin out stats.....People act like Monte Kiffin is the greatest ever..He ran a bend but not break defense in the NFL..The Tampa 2 was not known for giving up big plays but it will give up yardage...

Take a poll of Offensive Coordinators in the NFL from the past decade on who is the best DC they faced... Monte's name will be brought up often.

And furthermore, those stats are flawed...

You are correct, you win games on points not yardage, and Monte schemes first of all to limit points, secondarily to limit yards - which makes the low number of yards allowed this year, particularly against florida, that much more impressive.

You can make plenty of arguments regarding this game and our program, but being critical of Monte Kiffin is wasting energy and will lower your credibility. He and his defenses are proven.

You wouldn't consider Monte Kiffin one the the best DC's ever? The whole point behind bend but don't break defense is to limit the other team from scoring. You guys can have all the yardage you want as long as you don't score. The only stat line that matters at the end of the game is the one on the scoreboard...

Just in case you hadn't figured, this is not the NFL....Totally different game!! Why else do you think that Tebow is probably the greatest college football player ever but will be a back up in the NFL....

I agree, but let him do it on the college level..Whole different thing getting college kids up than NFL players to play!!!!

I'd be willing to bet my entire year salary that you being a Tiger/War Eagle fan, that you would take him as a DC in a damn heartbeat.

If you say you wouldn't, you would lose what little bit of credibility you have.

You could say the same thing about the high school level... Isn't that where your coordinator is from? I'll take the proven professional coordinator at the college level over the proven high school coordinator every time. I guess we will see who prevails tomorrow night...

By the way... Is the college game still played on field's that are 120 yards long? (Counting endzones)

And by your logic, Monte should have had a terrible time with the Florida offense, right?

I mean hell they are college, right?

 Seems to me like UCLA has surprised many with how well they have played this year. It was a tough game. And we do play a tough schedule. How do you defend Aubarn's pitiful collection of games you call a schedule?

CMK hasn't even been using his Tampa 2 defense all that much this year. He has opened up his playbook even further, and if you hadn't noticed, we haven't been giving up that many yards at all...the defense has barely bent this season and definitely hasn't broken. Ohio was a trap game anyway after an emotional Florida game and Auburn looming. Our DBs gave up some yards without Rogan in there, but he is back this weekend.
