Not sure what the percentage of Vols fans is that know where Clawson ended up, but I'd say it's fairly high. I said Kiffin improved every offense he's coordinated. USC, Oakland, and Tennessee.
Less than 10% of Vol Nation sang any sort of Dave Clawson praise while he was here. I didn't see anything from him indicating he belonged in the job of Offensive coordinator at UT. If you want to spend time worrying about where he went after UT and what he's doing now, that's your business. I could care less. He's not at UT and that's what matters.
We paid how much to get Kiffin? We had to pay to dispose of Phil Fulmer at an undisclosed amount that's in the millions, we paid the Kiffin's millions to come here. We spent a sheite load of money. I'd say the expectation of that is that Kiffin was better than what we had (Fulmer and Dave Clawson). If you go trade your old pickup in for a new one and in the process spend several thousand dollars, the expectation is for the new one to be better than the old one or you'd have saved your money and kept what you had.
Now, back to the original premise of this discussion, Monte Kiffin saying something to the effect that Tennessee is a bush league program along side USC. Again, as far as I'm concerned the Kiffins can kiss my :shaking2: . That said, I'm not impressed with what I saw out of Monte Kiffin. Yes he has talent, and yes he did a good job while he was here, BUT one thing you learn as an employer is that an employee who doesn't show up as agreed, quits, doesn't live up to their contract isn't worth diddly regardless of their ability or talent.
Monte, his son, and the whole crew came here with the promise that we'll put UT back where it was in the 90's. They didn't anywhere near fulfill their promise, and for that reason I don't have any respect for him regardless of his ability. He didn't live up to his promise, it's that simple.
