Frankly I'm tired of hearing them down us to make themselves look better over the stunt they pulled when they left. I don't blame a guy for leaving for more money or a dream job, but don't expect your previous employer to like you very well and in the case of a football team that has millions of fans, don't expect the fans to sing your praises after you left.

I figured if it was ok for him to talk trash about Tennessee having been here 1 season, it'd be ok for me, particularly in the company of other Tennessee fans to question his ability as well.

I don't follow Pro football at all. I might watch 5 or 6 games a year. I do follow college football, specifically I'm a Tennessee and Alabama fan. I've seen some good defenses over the years and I've seen some mediocre defenses. I wasn't that impressed with what Monte had here. I realize he didn't have a fully loaded gun, but he didn't stick it out long enough to find out what he could or couldn't do. From what I got to see of Monte Kiffin he appeared to be a better coach than his son, but what's that saying?

I don't know. Every offense Kiffin has gotten ahold of has improved.

Monte's defense was top notch until the injuries started mounting.

Or glad to see him gone,,, one of the best D coord. the game has ever seen on any level,, blasphemous statements being made on here. Im all for Wilcox and frankly VERY pumped ab him and what he is capable of. Just saying Monte is and was excellent to have also.

Monte did a good, job. We had a hard knock deff. Just our offense couldn't keep them off the field long enough to catch a break. I like Wilcox. Having a young D-cord, he can keep up with the young O-cords and what they are doing, especially with the spread being so big. JMO

USC called Riley and Sarkisian too, douche...but I don't see them wearing Trogan gear.

In the end it was best for us, but it's annoying hearing them try to justify that cluster.

The piece of trash never falls far from the dumpster. Some of you can make distinctions between the two if you want, but I say screw em both.

How much worse could our offense have gotten before he got there? If he couldn't out coach Dave Clawson he ought not be coaching at Alcoa let alone the University of Tennessee. The defense in general wasn't that bad under Chavis, it kinda depended on the ammo he had in his gun from year to year.

Clawson has done very well everywhere else he's been, including Bowling Green this past year. And our offense could have gotten much, much worse. Did you see all the players we lost from 2008 to 2009?

We are comparing the abilities of a coach "Worthy" of coaching at the mighty USC v's one who's an Offensive Coordinator at Bowling Green aren't we?

No and I can't say I know who's head coach at Southern Miss either. Good for him that he's got a head coaching job, but who's Bowling Green? (I know where the school is that's about it) It's not like he's at USC where we ought to bow down and worship.

I sent TJ the question whether the comment about "same class" was Monte's or his. I'll let you know if he responds.

Monte has been around football long enough to know that Tennessee isn't 2nd class to anyone. Playing in the SEC, UT has more wins than USC and the same number of bowl appearances, and since 1925 more wins than anyone (tied with Oklahoma).

Perhaps TJ forgets that from 1989-2001 (PCarroll's 1st year), USC won 88 games and Tennessee won 129. Perhaps he forgets USC losing 7 straight to UCLA in the 90s. From 1980-2001, USC was in exactly 4 Rose Bowls and were generally irrelevant in the national picture, losing 10 straight to Notre Dame at one point.

TJ must be very young or had OD'd on Trojan koolaid.

So did Tennessee both years, that's why UCLA won. Clawful and 3rd and Chavis killed us in LA in 2008. Clawful couldn't figure out that 6 or 7 yards a carry was a good thing. Instead he had Crompton chucking it all over the place.
Norm Chow just threw the ball in front of John's 15 yard cushion mustang garbage.

From now on I'll do 2 hours research before commenting.

I'm just saying that while here at UT in the capacity as our offensive coordinator Dave Clawson was the worst in that position that I can remember. I don't see how he could possibly be rated above either Coach Cutcliff, Randy Sanders or even Lane Kiffin.

My knowledge of Bowling Green is they used to alternate between Kentucky and Tennessee as being the opening game. Kind of a UT Martin type team, should be an automatic win thing. Honestly, how many people out of 1000 know who their coach is or cares.

You said our offense improved under Kiffin, the point of what I said was Dave Clawson sucked how could it not improve. You said he went to Bowling Green, sorry I hadn't been tracking him, wasn't overly concerned about what became of him.

while mixing in enough QB scrambles to give QBs like jamarcus russell career-high single game rushing totals.
